I think I just unintentionally crushed somebody when I turned down their offer to go on a date with them. I feel bad, but I'm really busy...and the thought that she gave mouth-to-mouth to a cat is kind of a turnoff.

Well, I think my plan went fine...

I gave her the gift, and after opening, her and a friend disappeared out into the hallway. After a few minutes she came back, and gave me a thank you hug. I hope that was a good thing.

 

There are just some things I will never get.

 

Anyways, I just found out my area is supposed to be hit with the coldest temperatures in a decade this week. The high on Friday is only supposed to be 26, and windchillls may lower the temps into the single digits. It was actually snowing around my house on the way to school this morning.

So the alcohol explains last night. Freak.

You shoulda drank water while drinking alcohol. Keeps you from getting to dehydrated, which is the main reason you have a hangover. Take a tylenol and drink some water and relax, it'll go away.

I'm really getting into some blink 182 at the moment, hang on..

Anyway.. All the Small Things aside, last night I said something about *person A* dumping *person C* to *person B* in front of *persons D, E, and G* which isn't good..

@Carpman: In RL, try vid's. Here, go in the back room and take a couple of shots from the oxygen tank. Your biggest mistake is getting sloshed on something with a lot of sugar in it. If you really want to get blasted, stick to whiskey straight or over ice. The side effects are not nearly so serious. It is better not to get blasted at all, just a nice buzz.

@zmveliger: Ladies hockey at the Olympics consists of a few practices then the Canada vs. U.S. game. Ladies hockey in other countries hasn't really got off the ground. You'll notice that there are quite a few Quebecoises on the team.

I've just heard a few minutes ago that my grandfather has passed away.

 

It's a really weird feeling I have right now: empty; sad, but not overwhelmingly sad. I was sure it would be harder to take than this, but I haven't shed a tear. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to act in a situation like this, this is the first close relative I've lost. My father is in quite a tangle though. We'll be flying out to Ontario for the funeral within the next day or so; my dad doesn't want me in school tomorrow but I feel relatively fine. Maybe it hasn't sunk in yet, I don't know. Anyway, I just thought I'd let y'all know.

Fischbob, times like this can be difficult, especially if it's someone you love. If you just want to vent your feelings or for somebody to listen, I would not mind in the least. My sincerest sympathies.

 

I know that when I lost my grandfather, it was 4 AM and I was awake in bed when the call came. One moment, somebody's here, and the next they're gone. Life can be unfair. To not feel any strong grief at first is perfectly natural as well. Once again, feel free to express your feelings, for I doubt anyone here will not deny you that privilege. Once again, my deepest sympathies.

Fischbob: My grandfather, who I was extremely close to, passed away over a year ago the day before his birthday while hunting near North Bay. At first I didn't do anything, but then it hit me. I spent the entire evening dead quiet but oddly, I accepted his death. He was very diabetic and was probably going blind, so maybe it was for the better.

    But when I'm at my grandparents home, alone, it really starts to hurt. He's just never there, and never will be. Gone forever, its horribly depressing. My poor grandmother, who is the nicest person in the world, lost her mother in the same year (Grandpa died November 5th 2004, Great grandma died March 19, 2004). When I was still in elementary school, me and grandpa use to go to thw McDonalds at lunch and have long conversations. After he died, I only went to McDonalds twice in the span of 1 year and 3 months. I used to go there all the time, but after his death I just couldn't.

@Fischbob: The autochef serves a chilled glass of ginger ale with a marachino cherry. A quarter ounce of Marachino liquer finds its way into the glass and turns it pink. I am sorry to hear that. Both of my grandfathers have been gone for about 50 years. My fathers mother died at 98 in 1979. It is hard to lose a grandparent you are close to. However, all my parents have also shuffled off this mortal coil. Dad at 78 and Mom at 88. Both were quite ill, and while it was a tear, I found that it was a blessing in the end. You haven't had time to properly mourn, but it will come, and you will live through it. After that, it is amazing how those memories can help. You have my deepest sympathy.

Sorry to hear it, fischbob. A grandfather of mine passed away two years ago, and I wasn't sure what to make of it. I, obviously, wasn't as sad as my parents, but it was, as you say, an empty feeling.

Bizarre...everyone is expecting me to take my break-up a lot worse. But, really, it was very clean and we both saw it coming. So I'm a little relieved.

I'm quite impressed with the nifty little 'Recently played' signature bar. Even though it does kinda point out some of the morosity of my musical tastes.

Our gas bill doubled last month. We are on equal billing, but they haven't read our meter in 7 months. We read it, and came in way under their estimate, so now the whole thing is in limbo until they get their contractor out here to read the meter. God save us from computer programs that estimate readings that run to costs for the consumer.

Well, my grammer ain't been not quite right lately.

By possibly I was implying that I might want a sandwich but was still undecided. Of course, I had it.......... delicious. And I'm a he.

 

We got thunder storms yesterday, when there was a good amount of snow and ice on the ground. Awkward, not mention that they were very loud. This morning, we almost hit a lamp post sliding on the ice. That sure woke me up.

I'm watching the new Battlestar Galactica right now.
I feel sorry for you and your grandfather, Fisch. One of my relatives passed away just a few months ago. I dunno, when I first heard the news, I thought I would be crying and feeling bad, but... I really wasn't feeling anything. Now I feel a little bad that I wasnt feeling bad for my relative. Sigh...
My Japanese grandfather passed away about 20 years ago. Never met him. Another sigh... Died of lung cancer. He smoked a lot.
It snowed today! Woohoo! Well, only in the mountains, but it's nice to look at. Makes for great scenery, and it made me want to play SC4 today. Decided to terraform some snowcapped peaks. But that was quite exciting, seeing snow around here where it never snows.

@Fischbob - That really sucks.  My grandfather died shortly after I was born... never met him...

So, anyway, I get home from school yesterday, and go online, right?  I'm talking to Sara online, and - completely out of the blue - she says that she doesn't like me quite as much as I do her.  Ok, that's fine by me.  But now she's completely blowing me off for doing ANYTHING with her.  Which really isn't ****ing cool.

 

Advice, anyone?
