Ah, I love chemistry. And the Olympics.

 

So anyway, I fly out uber early tomorrow morning from Saint John to Toronto, and then there's a couple hours of driving to where I need to go. I'll be there for most of the week, so you won't see much of me in the next few days.

 

Also, a big thanks to all of you who payed respects to my late grandfather. It's a good feeling knowing I have quite a few available shoulders here at ST if I need them. This really is the best community on the internet.

I s'pose that compared to vid's weather, I should be content with -15 C. And I would have been, but...

 

Friday morning was 18 C in the morning. It was downright balmy. We knew that a cold front was moving in, and high winds as well. But no one expected what actually happened. 70 mph (110 kph) winds are not fun when they slam against your school and the lights begin to flicker out.

    And then the reports began coming in.

    Two semis blown over on the highway. Windows in one of the office towers in the city blown out. A nearby elementary school having its roof torn off. District schools shutting down. My town declared in a state of emergency. I get home, and the power's out, and my favorite tree on the property is in the middle of the road. I'll miss that tree. And then the temperature plummets forty dgrees over two hours and the power, of course, is still out and the house drops to the mid forties. I ended up just sitting at work where it was warm and dosing off since it was too cold to be at home. And the next morning, I spent the day at the rest home where the seniors had since been evacuated but the power had been switched on overnight. I'm so glad to have my precious electricity now, or else I'd probably be down at the firehouse with the dozens of others who needed a warm place to stay. My neighbourhood looks like a warxone, becuase many of the homes are missing roofing material or siding.

    On the bright side, one of my classmates accidentally left her car in neutral, and the wind caught it and backed it into another car. I find a little sadistic humour in that, or maybe it's just an example of misery loving company.

Feel sorry for that tree. I had a special tree once too. It was a lemon tree. The lemonade was good... Now we've moved out of that house, and the tree belongs to someone else. Probably they cut it down. (I had named it Wally. I'm strange.)
I'll have... Yakiniku beef if that's avaible from here. Served over rice with an udon noodle dish and a glass of orange juice with ice cubes in it. And while you're at it, can you put on the public broadcasting channel for Silicon Valley? I want to see the Pink Panther.

I love chemistry.

Speaking of harmful chemicals, the cake was delicious. Same for the burger with fries. The NaCl got into the burns on my fingers (science lab gone wrong). I fumbled with a scorching hot metal scoop which contained salt and caught it a little too far down. That was horribly painful.

 

If vid calls you strange, you must of done something big.

I laughed when I read that you came up with that name from Odysseus when he was confronted by the Cyclops. (Truly an awesome epic).

 

Say, when I read that the Moose Factory was on the main website, I was wondering where it was way back then? Was it called something else? Also, did it have it's own section? {I've been a member since almost the very first day that website (simcity.com)  became functional}

 

 

 

I know this sounds like a $%&^! question (because it is one...), but what is a zuke? Is that a Simtropolis related word or something from a game or w/e?

Thanks, Micah. The old factory didn't last very long at the home site. It was an O.T. and when I pulled out, it was probably deleted by once of the so officious Mayors over there. Proceeding over the wine dark sea, you will have to put in at Antikythera and visit the Leech10 oracle for a definition of zukes. Cute little dragons, not at all what you would expect if you've been reading McCaffery.
