@N_O_Body: A Sidewinder Fang is a drink. An acoholic drink, I presume. But don't worry. I have a pill that allows me to stay sober, even after drinking an entire barrel of wood-grain. (From my CJ. You know, 2900's stuff.)

@justanothersim86: Mmmm mmmm good! 3.gif

And another 3.gif for the rest.

@ryanb_sc4: Just another reason why I don't go to games! 3.gif Met a famous player, eh? 4.gif

@vid: 3.gif

@hym: 20 minutes? 3.gif Yeek. Even so, my laptop takes about 3 minutes to boot... And it doesn't even have any malware! Man, would it be hell if there was. 3.gif

    @hym:GIMP Tutorials  I guess you forgot how to use Google?  Succubi change sex as needed.  A male version is called an incubus.  As for TJD, simply quote the scipture at him "Mene, mene, tekel upharsin" should do it.

    @ryanb_sc4:  Anytime, buddy.  Go Sabres!

    @DP:  Don't worry.  The autosystem handles intoxicants for underage customers.  You'll never miss them.

    @RiverCocytus:  You've got that right.  We like the delay.  It stops impulse blabbing.

    @mightygoose:  Welcome!  Didn't see you here before, did we?

    Eek, I would hate to see what the computer in my basement would do if it had that much spyware. It probably would just refuse to do anything, if it could hold the spyware.

    My computer probably has more VRAM than that computer has total RAM, possibly more than double.

    @defcon pilot:  Now that you mention it, I think that I've heard of a Sidewinder Fang.  Ever heard of the Rocket Launch?  It's where they stack 15 shot glasses in a pyramid, set them on fire, and you have to drink them all in a minute.46.gif

    @RiverCocytus:  Yeah, the Moose Factory is a great place to eat, chat, hang out, or whatever you feel like doing.44.gif

    @mightygoose:  Welcome to the Moose Factory!

    @N_O_Body:  43.gif  No, I didn't forget how to use Google (although you'd think that I had).  What's worse is that I got the download for the GIMP from that site and totally missed the tutorials.  I'm blind!8.gif3.gif  I read the thing about the incubus; now I know how that band got its name.  I did a Wikipedia search and found that they show up very often in most fantasy/RPG games; not suprising.1.gif  If nothing else, it's another topic with which to boggle people's minds.

    Oh, peanut butter cookies, my favourite.  Thank's sloppet.  Eats a cookie.

    My wife gave me a new web cam today, so I tested it.  Here is what I really look like:

    The moose.

    Not really too much of a thug, am I?

    @sloppet:  I have never figured out why people like peanut butter cookies.  I understand that they are usually the most healthful cookies out there, but I doesn't make them taste any better.

    @N_O_Body:  You remind me of an actor I've seen a few times.  Good to see the face of our wonderful bartender!44.gif

    I get the distinct impression of Walter Matthau.

    Hello, is that a novel collection that I see on the shelve behind you? Any particular genre?

    @brancra:  You are looking at part of my library because that is where this workstation is located.  You see about 1/8 of the stacks.  Most of it is fiction of various genres, and reference works.  I am currently reading mostly fantasy, science fiction (as opposed to sci fi), historical fiction, and the occasional work on computer science.

    Re: Walter Matthau -Deceased 2000.

    Thanks fellows, it is a great compliment.  I only wish I had any amount of his talent.  He was one of the greatest actors of my lifetime and I miss his wry humour and fine characterizations.

    Ah, H.G.Wells- the only man who could create such a realistic piece of science fiction, that when it was read over the radio people panicked and fled their homes because they thought aliens really were invading the Earth.

    And they weren't even Leech's zukes that were invading the Earth. A shocker there.

    I heard about that.... my dad said there was "riots in the streets" and people were scared half to death.... then later on I heard that wasn't really true. So i don't know.

    Personally I've never read H.G. Wells.

    According to me, sci fi is just an abrevviation of science fiction.

    What authors are you reading right now? Personally, I've basically read Jules Verne and most of H.G. Wells.quote>

    Hang on to your hat!  I confess, I am reading J. D. Robb's (Nora Roberts) ".... in Death" series (takes place in about 50 years from now).  It is police procedural with some future twists and monkey sex.

    I am also currently reading a multi-volume swords and sorcery series by Katherine Kerr, first title "Daggerspell".  Interesting universe.

    I have recently read the last volume published of Harry Turtledoves WW II series where the war is sort of interrupted by an alien invasion by a reptilian species with a really old civilization that has become completely static, and therefore decadent.  By about 2100 the earthlings have a real FTL drive and have visited the lizard's home planet, scaring the fewmets out of them.  It looks like it will be a reverse takeover.

    Currently, I am reading fantasy because my science fiction authors won't be out until Christmas, and I only buy paperbacks.

    Verne is rather passé now unless you put yourself in the 1900's frame of mind.  Wells stuff all has messages.  I think "The Shape of Things to Come" is the most apocalyptic thing of that era.

    @brancra:  The Mercury Theatre episode was played as genuine news.  If you missed the opening, as many did by tuning in late, it sounded like the real thing.  Scared the living boojums out of a lot of complacent people.

    @Blonde Twiggy:  Some people did, in fact, loudly panic.  "When in danger or in doubt, run iin circles, scream and shout."

    @leech10:  The correct abbreviation for science fiction is sf.
