FS9 could really use an update don't you think--the airports are really crude.  Good luck!

If you look at his first post on this page, there is a 737, the game comes with a 707, and there is a 767 prop pack laying around, as well as Pilotdaryl working on a large 777 pack (See Modding - Open Discussion for thread)

Both the B737 and A320 are in the works by various members and constalations, i might get around to start of a Ilyshin or Tupolev over the chrismas break, though no Promises.

The Trippel Seven is already in the works by the Airport Team, several 767's were released by Kumba and Filasimo i belive over at sc4d.

Man, I can't handle the wait.. could you maybe (on the days you do work) devote 1/3 of the time to Sim City, and the other 2/3 to FS [face_batting]

Voltaire & everyone, Hi all;

I posted this over in the ACE thread, but just thought i might put this here too,

I hate to be one of those people that just demands new lots or BATs instead of being thankful for the great stuff you guys put out.  But i do have one request and maybe you have this and if so just point me in the right direction.  If you could , i am looking for more Airport ground equipment, i.e.: Tugs, Fuel Trucks, shipping contaners, MHE (Material Handeling Equipment), K-Loaders, and so on.

Is their a plan for any of this, if so great, if not could i make a humble request for it.

Also if i can be of any help, I don't BAT, but i am a dam good LOT maker, if u have the props i can put them together for you.

Well i just wanted to say thank you for the great work so far.

thanks

teddyb

Thanks King Titan and teddyb. hamsterTK the 737 project has a bit of a setback (see below) but it'll be up and running again soon, after I reconstruct some things. teddyb we're working in that direction; in addition to the new control tower ace has recently done new ground vehicles, including a conveyor truck. Once my gmax is back on its feet, that side of the project should start rolling again.

    now I have an Announcement:

Two weeks ago, in an attempt to restore stability and performance to my computer, I reloaded the system from scratch. The procedure was very successful from a performance standpoint. But when I used my data backups, I found widespread corruption in the DVDs containing my SC4 library. In many cases, restoration of the master texture and model files is impossible.

Due to the fact I cannot commit to the enormous amount of time needed to recreate those materials, I'm forced to shut down RMIP. It seems as good a time to conclude this project as ever, considering I've met and surpassed the goals I set in the beginning -- bringing realism and true layout flexibility to SimCity airports. I'll still be around, making new airport content with the Aerospace Consortium, but not pavement systems.

    MANY THANKS

to all who downloaded, contributed, and commented over the last two years. This was one of the most-read, largest, and consistently-active projects on Simtropolis due to your interest and continued support. At times the work was tedious and no fun at all -- but your kind words and enthusiasm kept me going back for more. Thank You and Happy Flying!

Oh no! That's so sad to hear! 8.gif Well, you brought a lot of realism to creating airports in SC4, and opened up a whole range of possibilities, and I congratulate you on that.

I have a question: what about the wide & diagonal runways? Have those been abandoned as well?

Hmm, pretty disappointing for two reasons.

No more RMIP and the wide runway looks to have not been worked on for a while.3.gif Ah well.

wow, that's terrible news voltaire, i'm very sorry you lost all your hard work 15.gif thank you for all your work, it is obviously more than we could ask for, the realism in sc4 while making airports could not be accomplished without your hard work and efforts.

edit: joy...leave it to some people to plug their own projects here...28.gif

Wow, that's horrible news. You've completely changed this game. I really appreciate the hard work you put into those lots. I hope you can continue to be an active member of the community though.

I think a few people (probably the same) are confused.

"edit: joy...leave it to some people to plug their own projects here... "

Eh? Why is this comment always here? People seem to think that Voltaire was actively working on wide and diagonal runways. The fact is he never got past some very basic textures and it was actually dedgren and co. who were actively working on 3 tile wide and diagonal runways. Hence Filasimo comes in here every so often to let people know that him and dedgren were actively making these runways, and not Voltaire who has only really being doing planes and tarmac stuff for many many months.

    Edit:

"What exactly is the "0x2c5d0000---Tag1x1x3_Runway---Gnome" ?"

I think it is a tag that makes those tiles that have it UDI-enabled for planes. When I didn't have those on custom airport tiles I had done, (UDI) planes just rebounded off the tile.

I know, but he was not 'actively' working on them. All we saw was a basic orthogonal runway piece. He never showed any development past that. Therefore he wasn't actively working on it for many many months.

I unfortunately suffered a crash of my computer as well around the same time and until I can get the money for a new graphics card (and what other problems may exist beyond that), lost my computer that can run SC4 as well as the planned guide I had been working on for the AC. Sorry to hear that RIMP's going defunct. It's been a pleasure helping you along the way.

I guess it's time for all of us to say our farewells to the RMIP.  I must say, this project was a great one, and at least you managed to release four packs of it.  If I could do anything to help (such as continuing the RMIP project), I would.  But I guess that's other people's (particularly Exodus and Dedgren's) jobs to continue your project.  I will mostly continue working on my 777 project, and seek any help from ACE to match my planes with his own.  I'll just tag along in your SC4 Devotion thread for now.  It's been a good time.  Good luck!  Happy flying to you!

Heh... I didn't realize that this was cancelled a few months ago...  But I had to say my words.

Pretty much every custom content requires Rush Hour/SC4 Deluxe these days. SC4 vanilla can't handle any BAT files, and it doesn't support popular mods like the NAM. You should try to find Rush Hour or SC4 Deluxe; I don't know about other countries, but here in Germany, the latter can be obtained for less than 10 EUR (US-$ 14).
