Here is a building based on some of the designs at www.futurebydesign.org

Just a draft but pretty cool. I recommend that site to anyone lacking in inspiration for Mars BATs...

Thanks for the positive feedback. I'm not sure about my member status. Hopefully it will show up soon 1.gif. I mamaged to get a little time with the BAT in so here is a small update. I added a small upper story to the house. I think it is pretty much finished but comments and suggestions are welcomed.

I have started working on another small modular home. It is going to have more rounded edges and different textures ( think the trim is going to be copper/rust/green). I am planning on using it to help create a large residential tower.

tragicomicus1 - I like the design, I was actually thinking about a similar design for my tower. Can't wait to see some updates.

I love it!  Can't wait to see more work from you.  You should join the SimMars Workshop Forums.  Technically, only project members are allowed to join, but with work like this, it would be no problem getting on the building team.

First, join, then:

up at the top, enter the SimMars Project forum.  Find Teams and Jobs, and request to join the building team.

Hummer: Thanks for the invite. Think are pretty busy busy right now but once things calm down a little I think I'll check into joining the team.

Here's a rounded modular home that I'm working on. I may change the textures some and I'm planning on adding some geometry to the sides. Once its done it will be used to create my residential tower.

Getting the rounded front face was a challenge but I am pretty pleased with the way it turned out. As always, comments and suggestions are welcomed.

These BATs look great! This project is coming on well!

Why does one drive on a parkway and park on a driveway?

Why is delivery by boat called a cargo and one by land called a shipment?

I am trying to decide on the layout for a residential tower. Anyone have an opinion?
A -rotated
B - staggered

As it is, I like B) better. Although if it was taller I am sure A) would look just as good.

I personally like them both...if you change one of them's textures, then both could be used...or keep them both the same. SimMars batters are doing an excellent job...I wished I had your talents.35.gif

here's my shipyard i'm working on, just needs lightings and bits and pieces done to it, tragicomicus and outdoorsman, those BAT's are looking awesome, keep up the great work

shipyard001.jpg
this is basically a spaceship version of a normal earth waterbased ship building yard, except this one churns out small space freighters, that eventually end up doing cargo runs between mars and earth

Cool! It looks like you also put a lot work on the interior as well as the exterior. I like that attention to detail!

I'll be kicking and screaming until I see all these wonderful designs done soon. Keep up the great work ODM and Octo. 2.gif

WOW!, outdoorsman03, that is bloody brilliant mate!!!, has anyone asked you to join the sim mars building team??, hey builderman! sign this guy up at once!, his work is brilliant, the detail in that dome, easily as good as what you'd expect from someone like somy (japanese BATTER), anyways here's my newest one, Ultor shipyards pty ltd, specializing in the construction of small cargo freighters

Octopus7 - thanks for the compliment but Somy is amazing. I think I am still a bit of a $%&^! with the BAT but I'm learning. I really like the construction yard. Have you considered adding a materials handling and staging area? Just a thought 1.gif

Heres an update of what I have been working on. I added some lighting to the dome and I have started the base. Any suggestions and comments are welcomed.

i took a break from building cyrez systems, and this is what i came up with, 2 lots, the first is a fuel storage depot, which is a 1x1 $dirty-industry, (orange tanks in the pic) and the second is a liquid air storage depot, which is a 1x2 $dirty-industrial lot (white tanks in pics) i just used the standard chemical tank as a prop, but i might design a pumphouse, etc to use a prop instead.
storagetanksday.jpg
note that the pic includes some of my other BAT's as well, i'm trying to build a sandbox mars city with my stuff and anyone else who has completed mars structures, i also have gshmails blackhole waste and water facility, just tring to get the look that we want on mars, enjoy

Oct - I'm really liking the storage tanks. My only suggestion would be to durty up the textures a little bit and make it look a little more distressed. Besides that they are are great.

/idealbb/files/HR.JPGHere's I have been
working on. I think I am going to try to render tonight 1.gif
