maetoch, g-funk - I like the new little buildings. I really enjoying making the little 1X1 and 1X2 buildings. They don't take long, you can make them pretty detailed without too much effort, and they are easy to render. Keep up the great work.

Some of these buildings look really great, why not have them for regular SC4 too? They're good enough to be for both versions. 2.gif

i want to show this building also here on st to get some suggestions.

that's the actual status.

i plan to make a ladder from the lower roof to the upper roof on the right side of the upper roof.

on the lower roof will be a landing pad and on the pper roof some antennas. the lift will be at the stripe of the smaller part of the building.

i will have to think about the base, i don#t have any specific ideas yet

Hey, good Clayton. do you think that you could change the night texture, like have it be the coulor the H is in the day time? other wise, it looks good.

It's very nice, but a little dark.. I probably couldn't see it at night with my crappy monitor. And a big ol' satelite dish somewhere on the lot could be for transmission to satelites and from there to other locations on Mars or even Earth. Just an idea37.gif3.gif

Wow... I really like the look of this building.. it reminds me of the Wynn in Las Vegas.

The Wynn bulding has to be the most out of place, horrifying structure I have seen in quite some time. It looks like the designer had a LSD flashback to the highlights of the Studio54 era. It is just a horrible, ugly ass piece of glass and metal piece of garbage in the desert. I honestly thought at fisrt it was a building consturctued in the era of oppresive architecture known as the 1970's and was about to be blown up, that's how ugly it is. T

Hmm, I actually sort of like it. The Wynn really stands out, and the only thing that gets to me about is it looks sort of cheesy. It would look much better if the top ended in a straight line.

I guess what really gets me is you have this newer architecture out there (in Vegas) that combines the best of new age and old age structures. Then there is this oppressive thing sticking out like a sore thumb. I'll give you this though, it's not nearly as bad at night. Anyways, sorry I got off topic.

First would like to congrats every of you with such nice job I see done so far. Just want to add my two cents. Mars is desert. Prolly none of you live in desert environment as I do. And what you need while living in such environment: do not leave open sand spaces inside towns and more important - build protective walls around every major road and building witch face desert. So you need to design those as well or your marsians will face real dificulties by moving outside of town2.gif

Pmiller: EXCELLENT! Just the unique architecture I have been searching for! I will check for this Modd, for sure.

I have finally figured out the BAT and made a custom retaining wall, saved it, then export(I have the correct settings) and then render: Although the render is going, it is very s-l-o-w. So, looking in running processes, I have two instances of Gmax running? Render finally slows to a stop and I get, Gmax not responding message.

Also, I click on BAT icon and sometimes Gmax opens and other time BAT opens, I think anyways. I am one lost puppy in here.

these have not been turned into lots yet they are still in the bat workshop. If you would like these lots I may be able to get them done soon. I have been waiting untill I have all my props ready to make into lots. I made these for my CJ and posted them here incase anyone was interested in using them for sim Mars. Thanks for the support and I will try to get one lot uploaded.

you may have to reinstall GMAX and BAT... that might help. also rendering does take a while depending on how large a prop is. the larger the prop the longer the render.

Pmiller: I understand totally, where you are coming from. Do not rush on my account. This stuff is not easy and takes a lot of patience.

I will do as you say and also may attempt to clean up my plug-ins a bit, all in one.
 
I would prefer to modd my own originals and then become a STEX member. I learn this stuff fairly quick and already play with, Rhino3.0, Adobe Illustrator, Bryce5.5, poser5, etc. Legal registered software too. and haven't made a penny with any of it. lol.
