What software do you use to take a snap shot of whole region. As it does not fill inot my screen...

beskhu3epnm, I have google earth, but how can it help me to get elevation data? Yes, by waving mouse pointer over the area I can see elevation data, but can I get it in txt, dem or any other file format by using googleearth? if no, could you give me references to most popular free GIS sites. Thanks!

Hey guys. I'm thinking to make my own map, but cant find any elevation data on the area of interest. The area would be Vilnius city. It is capital of Lithuania. Any suggestions where could I look for the data?

To build region together we would need at least: 0. Region it self - attractive place to build with large variety of terain. Size should depend on the amount of players, but not more than 3 cities per player. Players should agree they all use the same version of SC. 1. Set of Mods and custom buildings. The set should be unified for all players of the region. 2. Quick server to download and upload our cities as and whole region. 3. Conception of the region with major roads/rail roads prelayed to keep region united 4. First would like to congrats every of you with such nice job I see done so far. Just want to add my two cents. Mars is desert. Prolly none of you live in desert environment as I do. And what you need while living in such environment: do not leave open sand spaces inside towns and more important - build protective walls around every major road and building witch face desert. So you need to design those as well or your marsians will face real dificulties by moving outside of town
