The Speedos aquatic fitness line are the only ones I've found that can withstand daily use.

but, you're talking about the men's swimsuits, I believe they qualify as sharing too much.

We can inspire others through witness so that one grows together in communicating. But the worst thing of all is religious proselytism, which paralyzes: “I am talking with you in order to persuade you.” No. Each person dialogues, starting with his and her own identity. The church grows by attraction, not proselytizing.    - Pope Francis

I would not be caught dead in a Speedo. I've never been swimming with people that were wearing them, but have been near a pool at the time. Revealing a little too much detail if you ask me, but it's not the most annoying thing in the world.

Then there is this kind of speedo; speedometer. Sometimes people abbreviate it. This one is in my Toronado, and I like it a lot better than circular dials and digitals:

And then there is the speedomatic also called a speedo by some mechanics I know. This is marketed as a cruise control.

Speedo swimsuits on men are a kind of cruising out of control.

My semi-friend S. Tosco (I have no idea how to spell his first name, but it's pronounced SY-rus) wore a Speedo once. Everyone thought that it looked like a G-string. I find them kinda strange, and I don't wear them anyway, mostly because I'm shy of my looks. (Which is why I fix up pictures of me in Photoshop after I take them.)

Well I have speedos which unfortunately for us, turn this thread into a paradox capable of imploding the universe, for my speedos are speedo branded swimming shorts.11.gif

I've put alot of thought into the speedo in the last few years, my position on the matter has gone back and forth so many times I'm not sure where I stand on the issue any more.

Originally, I belived that the only excuse for a male (over the age of 12) to wear a speedo was if they were an athelete... as in a swimmer or a diver. Furthermore, this athletic gear should only be donned at a swim meet, competition or practice. The exception to this rule would be professional models while on a shoot.

Later, I began to feel that there is some sort of gender inequity going on here. Why should men be made to feel that their body is something that must stay hidden, something to be ashamed of.
This was a somewhat silly position to take, I had alot of fun raising my fist and saying Free the testies!
Yeah, it stopped being funny once my father-in-law heard about it, and being, as Jackie on 'that 70's show' would put it, some gross european guy, he decided it would be appropriate to show up to my dinner table in only a speedo and sandals. At which point I lost my enthusiasm for the movement.

Last summer, my employers decided that it was time to have a staff get-together, and they thought it would be fun for everyone if we all went to a waterslide park for an afternoon. The owners have two kids, so they liked the idea, but only one staff member is a parent, so other than her, the staff was less than enthused.
The night manager and myself were talking about it one night, Neither of us being particularly comfortable walking around with no shirt on ( we're not exactly bodybuilders), and it dawned on me that if I wear a speedo, I can be quite comfortable in the knowledge that nobody will be looking at me below the shoulders.
After I anounced that I would be purchasing the skimpiest speedo money could buy especially for the occasion, the outing was cancelled.

    The moral of this story?
The speedo can be a powerful tool, but use it's power wisely, for it can turn against you when your in-laws come to visit.
