THE NEW

GOLDENROD PLAINS

Hello all, and I'm back with a brand new CJ. This CJ is also situated in where my original Goldenrod Plains, CJ took place, only 1000 years in the future. But first, a introduction...

--START TRANSMISSION--
S.S. Goldenrod, Deep Space: 15 April, 3006.

Finally. After escaping the devestation of Marit 4, we reach the solar system we had to leave, 1000 years ago. On our little planet of Earth, there once existed a beautiful city, called Goldenrod, nestled in a goregeous mountain setting. but unfortunately for us, the city, and the planet was utterly obliterated by a huge asteriod, 60 miles in diameter. Now, this is the perfect place to go, after Marit 4 was attacked and we suffered deliberated damage to our fleet.

This is former Mayor Tom Cao transmitting to all fleet warships.

--END TRANSMISSION--

--START TRANSMISSION--
Earth, Goldenrod Valley: 17 April, 3006.

We have landed, and the terrain is very different from what we see 1000 years ago. First off, the land is covered in a lush green grass, that of a nature in which it reverts Earth back to the prehistoric times. There is no signs of human life anywhere, although plant life has restored back greatly. The temperature is awfully humid and wet, unlike the original place in which it was mild and temperate.
This will be the reconstruction of civillization. This will be the rebirth of Earth.

--END TRANSMISSION--

So how did you like the intro? I'll provide pictures tomorrow, I'm running short on time now.

-KOSC

     He's back in town! Loving the intro buddy. Is it just me, or are some of the relatively older members who had left us for a while coming back? Seems a touch like it...3.gif Can't wait to see some pics!

    --RADIO TRANSMISSION--
    Goldenrod Camp: July 22, 3006:

    <ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/GMREG0001.jpg align=baseline>

    The features of Goldenrod Valley sure does look different. Thats our camp right there. After 3 months, we sort of transformed it into a small village. With limited supplies, we explore around the area. We found a large concentration of woods all around, and hauled them down to the town to create lumber.

    Here is an old photo of the camp early around May. The Thermal Power Infusor was constructed by the few brilliant scientists left of our fleet. All others died on Marit 4. The industrial factories around it were built so people could work to earn money. We have our spaceships as the temporary government offices. But the spaceships are heavily armored and impenetrable to normal people, so they can't infiltrate it.

    <ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/GC0004.jpg align=baseline>

    And after a couple of weeks, more people start heading off the spaceship. The atmosphere is once again in a condition where things can survive. The meteor that destroyed the world has definatley left its imprint on this planet.

    We recently recieved a garbled message from the War Attorney back at Marit 4. He's one of few people that survived. He reported that the people who managed to escape Earth are captured onboard the ship he is on. About fifteen million people were on that ship, and that is insane. He also reports that when Earth was hit by the meteor, not everything was obliterated. He says in the southern portion of Goldenrod, there exists an underground metropolis, waiting patiently for the remainder to return to Goldenrod.

    And soon we found them, and it seems that they lived in very good conditions. The technology was far too primitive, as they still resort to using gas powered vehicles and coal power plants.
    We also realized that almost all our technology was malfuctioning, because one day, a torrential story destroyed our computers and gadgets. So now, we are back to a state in which it was 1000 years ago. However, we also missed living like that.

    <ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/GC0003.jpg align=baseline>

    <ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/GC0002.jpg align=baseline>

    <ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/GC0005.jpg align=baseline>

    <ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/GC0001.jpg align=baseline>

    And now with our population a little over 2300, I guess its time to rebuild civillization from scratch.

    --END TRANSMISSION--

    And that was our first update. So do you like it? Questions, comments, and suggestions are all welcome.

    The citizens finally get their newspaper. With most of our technology gone, I guess we would have to resort to living back at our primitive state, approximately 1000 years ago.
    Some calculated and smart architect we found built us this highway. It was this cement block that can span waterways and carry millions of cars. Living here will definately change in a few months.

    <ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/GC0006.jpg align=baseline>

    <ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/GC0007.jpg align=baseline>

    Then, their expert diggers dug a trench in an area near our suburbs, and filled it up with H2O. Then, people could relax all over the area, and from our Infusor, any dirty, polluting industrial wastes were converted into clean air.

    <ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/GC0008.jpg align=baseline>

    And then, a 10 story building popped up. It was built in the ancient art deco style back in the 1930s, and looks like it has been thorugh some kind of explosion. However, this was not the case inside, as it was an luxurious hotel.

    <ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/GC0009.jpg align=baseline>

    And our ship, the S.S. Goldenrod, took an arial shot of our thriving little town, population 4,000.

    Good start. That is a lot of highway for 4000 people. There is a lot of hope for the future as they think big.

        Huge development in little time!  Your freeway system is really impressive with the realistic curves and sunken portions. 44.gif25.gif  And good use of the ploppable water.  It fits well with those huge mansions.

    PERSONAL MESSAGES

    TMS: Hehe, I always try to keep my road system at an uncontrollable, yet realistic way. Most of my highway designs are based upon LA.
    joeynymets: Thanks for the comment. I hope to continue to do well in this CJ.
    DA: Thanks, and like I said before, I like to keep my highways in an uncontrollable rate. 3.gif
    Meister: WHOOO! Now that was was a really long one, and 13 smilies...maybe I should try that, lol. Anyways, thanks for stopping by buddy, although I don't think I can compare my building skills to Jamie anymore, he has long since surpassed me! 19.gif
    Mike: Hey Mike, Thanks for the comments. The city is going to be very big, hopefully if RL doesn't catch up. 3.gif
    xmenkool: Hey, welcome to Simtropolis, and I'm flattered that you would call me A Master of Transportation 43.gif. But somehow, my sims never seem to use my effective routes and go on streets insterad 22.gif.
    alek: Thanks, and I have definately got some of inspiration from that eye-candy album of yours, it is truly spectacular!
    jacqulina: Hey, long time no see Jackie! Congrats on that trixie award, you do deserve it!
    GMT: Thanks for the comment! I'm glad you like the first one, I really enjoyed making that one too. 19.gif
    mtbrocket: Thanks! And I always seems to have a craving for highway interchanges and stuff, ever since I was little 1.gif.
    Yoshi25: Thanks for the comment! And the pond by the houses was made by jeronij and DuskTrooper in combined teamwork to make ploppable water. It is found here: Plopable Water  by Jeronij
    railrod7: Hey, thanks for the comments! I really like to keep my freeway system at a realistic level, so I try to follow how some freeways are in the real world. 29.gif
    joeynymets (2): Hey again joey, and no, I wasn't using the create a lake kit. I was using the Plopable Water by Jeroni. But hey, thanks for trying to help Yoshi out. Its always nice to see a helping hand. 44.gif
    All: Unfortunately, I've hade a minor stroke of bad luck, and ended with some RL this week. However, it will clear up soon, and into the weekends, its going to be time for a big update!
