I have a request for a 1x1 custom BAT/Lot for my CJ. Plopable and terrain comforming. I will always be using it in the side of a hill. Here is a picture I made in Photoshop of what I need align=baseline> If anyone out there could do this for me, I would be very grateful. I am teaching myself gMax, but it is slow going. You can PM me or answer here. Thanks in advance.

There is an "attach code" button and a place for "attach files". The "attach files" button will cause the pic to be uploaded, and therefore hosted on-site, which we all don't want. So I am back to my original question. How do I host my pics off-site and then post them in my CJ? ( I hope I am not being dense, as I figured out how to do it without any help at all in the old forum ) quote> You can do it without buttons, like the tutorial shows. Use this code: quote> Thank you SkiGeek. I will try that. But the tutorial didn't have that red circle when I read it. It told me to do it the way that I was used to, which won't work here. EDIT: Thanks again SkiGeek. It worked fine!

I am not "nit-picking". I just want to continue my CJ and I have no clue how to post pictures, as the user interface has changed. I also completely understand "in-progress". I think opening the forums was an excellent idea, and I certainly hope that the forums do not close down simply because I requested help on how to post pics.

First, let me say GREAT JOB to Dirk and the admins. This new forum seems to be working much faster and cleaner than the last one was. But we need, or at least I need, a new sticky on the "how to"s of sig and picture posting. I am anxious to get my CJ going again, but I can't figure out how to get my pics from Image Shack to my posts. I am not an html or xml guru like many of the others here, so I need a little help. Thanks in advance, mudspreader PS - A preview feature for posts would be nice too

Who has a problem with commute time?
mudspreader replied to sixers33's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I have the NAM and I still get ridiculous commute times. Subways, buses, trains, and still get commute times of over 40 minutes. This actually brings up another point. A large city is only 4 km wide. How in h*** can it take 40+ minutes to go 4 km? -
What are the perimeter and area measurements of individual tiles and...
mudspreader replied to chomusclavus's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Eric nailed it. Tiles are 16m x 16m. A small city is 64 tiles wide. 64x16=1024m, or 1.024km. A large city is 256 tiles wide. 256x16=4096m, or 4.096km. 4096/1609=2.545 miles. 100,000/2.545=39,292.73 large cities to reach 100,000 miles. -
Being a resident of Westchester County, NY, and the fact that I am in NYC often, I have got to say that this CJ is FANTASTIC!! The attention to detail, while being constrained by the limits of the game, is supurb! Keep up the great work. And Duke...lighten up man!

Welcome to ST! I too am a $%&^! and learning the finer points of using the many lots and BATs available to us here. Glad you're enjoying it and I will echo your thanks to the batters and modders! -
Nice start. I believe that the pics are larger than 800x600 though, and that is going to make the powers-that-be unhappy to the point of removing them. I suggest downsizing them.

Really nice looking work! I have a question though. Are all those skyscrapers plopped BATs? I ask because the development looks to be about the same as a city I am working on, but I have nothing taller than a mid-rise condo. Keep up the good work.

To quote soldyne, you skills have definitely improved since page 1. One thing I noticed, perhaps because I am an aviaton fanatic, the runway at the airport is a little dangerous at the ends. Keep up the good work.

Sorry to hear that your first city bit the dust. I feel your pain. My first cj, Richardson County, suffered the same fate. I learned a valuable lesson then, which I will share with you now. BACK UP YOUR CITY!! When you get this up to 6 or 7 pages, or more, you will be really bummed out if you lose it. Since starting my current CJ, Landfall, I back it up every time I update. Good looking work so far. Keep it up.
