Hey,

I'm Thomas, 18 years old.
I live in Brussels, Belgium and am law student at Louvain-la-Neuve, wich is a university town outside Brussels.

I've actually been coming on this site for quite a while now but am not a very actif member (except if downloading other people's work is actif, but i doubt it).
I don't have a cj, i can't BAT, i don't even leave a lot of comments...hum, I'm not really giving a great image of myself there... however, i do appreciate a lot (hence my overdownloading) and am very impressed with what has been done by the various members of this community.

Anyway, that's pretty much it,

Thomas

Hello ppl,
I've been a member here for quite a while, I just din't post anything. I believe that you learn more by listening than talking.

I learned a great deal here at Simtropolis and found that when I did have a question, a little diligent searching usually provided the answer.

I began work on a more realistic looking railyard back in early 2004 and then shelved the project (and the game) for awhile. The problem with the game is that ALL of the Rails are double tracked. Even when people posted Transit enabled Lots, they were ALL double tracked! So I began working on some base and overlay textures that would enable me to put together a more realistic Rail Yard (something EA promised but did not deliver in Rush Hour). The textures I developed also had many uses in other types of Industrial lots.

I recently restarted the game and the project but found that the IID's I had used were out of date so to speak. I've requested a new number range but have yet to hear anything. I would like to contribute some of the Lots and Textures I've created, but that one detail is holding everything up.

I'm not on any project teams or a regular contributor to the STEX,(i did make a donation to the site tho, and received the Vol1 CD), but I would like to become one.

Personal data: I live in upstate NY and work as a Stage Technician(build sets and stuff) for a regional live theatre company in Saranac Lake. I have an older computer and a dial-up modem which tends to slow things down, but I manage ok.

Well thats all folks!
P.S. If anyone is interested, I can post an in game picture of the rail yard.42.gif'); height=25 alt=Insert smilie 42.gif src=https://community.simtropolis.com/assets/emoticons/42.gif width=15 border=0>

hi all. i'm a bit late to the party but it's a real nice surprise to find such an active community around this game. looking forward to getting into sc4 tonight for the first time. i've played all the older versions but for some reason didn't buy sc4 when it came out.

just quickly, i'm an avid gamer spending most of my time playing Americas Army both for fun and competitively, i love cars (maybe too much as most of my money is wasted on them), love go-kart racing, movies, going out and have tried everything from downhill biking to skydiving for kicks. i think i'm a compulsive shopper thus i'm bad with money. keep it away from me lol.

that's it for now. i'm on my lunch break at work and i have to get back to it. only 3 hours till i get to play sc4 1.gif

cheers

Hi, everyone.  My name's Don and I live just outside of St. Louis, Missouri.  I started playing SimCity back in the old classic days and have played ever since.  I've lurked around here for a while but thought it was about time that I posted a greeting.  I've read many posts (and sticky posts) to learn as much as possible about the game.

I've also enjoyed all the lots I've downloaded so far.  All are superb.  The few threads and omnibus articles that helped are by Thy451(?), how to make realistic looking suburbs, and the post by SmackSim about region play (his thread gave me a huge jump start into region play).  19.gif  The best lots and bats hands down, in my opinion, are the ones by SimGoober.44.gif

Enjoy and catch everyone online soon.

My name is T.J. and I'm not the greatest when it comes to computers. I've been a musician/hockey player my whole life, and left the computers to those that know what they're doing while I sat and played my guitar or hit the ice. But the past couple of years, I've taken a more serious interest in computers rather than just viewing them as a way to access the internet or play games. I'd love to be able to use one of these new music studio programs, but the stuff I've seen here has really grabbed my intrest.
I too am new to this site, and what an incredible site it is! I've been playing SC4 off and on since it came out, but recently have really gotten back into it. I got back into it with an intense intrest in finding, or possibly doing my own custom buildings. Little did I know how amazing and incredible the work out there is! The people here do some jaw-dropping work, and after I joined, I instantly felt the need to donate since my computer skills are lacking and I could never approach the quality I've seen here.

I was kind of disappointed with the limited downloads I've found elsewhere. Then I find this place!
Thank you all for the great work you've done that you share with others, and hopefully someday, I'll figure out how to install this 3DS Max and try to use the BAT.

Well, although I've been apart of Simtropolis for a couple months now, I'd thought I would introduce myself. I have started playing SimCity 2000 when I was in the single digits! I'm almost 16 and SimCity is my favorite game of all time! I have made a few cities in the SC2K and SC3K I love the most. Oasis is a city I built in SC2K with no natural water source (much like Los Angeles and other Desert Southwestern Cities) and became the first city that I used the grid system of street planning. In SC3K, my favorite city I built was Memorial City, a metropolis with a river paralleling the ocean (Intercoastal Waterway like).  Downtown was on the pennensula and had several connections to the mainland.

And on SimCity 4, I am working on several cities in Myrtle (not meaning to advertise).
