Anyway the funny thing's that the kid in my class is named Sebastian... Just wanted to write something more than the usual Great job, Keep it up, Next update? and so on...

By the way...Great job! Keep it up and when will we see the next update? 2.gif

    My Dear Jeroni,

As I've mentioned to you in a different mail, my apologies for not being able to be more prompt with my replies to your posts.  The only good, uninterrupted time I have to reply is at work between phone calls as my computer time at home is limited by Real Life (not that work isn't Real life as well...).

    < grin >

    Buena Vista
I'm sure I've missed your Sunday deadline for comments, thoughts and ideas concerning this new region and possible CJ but I believe I was able to give you my comments in a different e-mail.  Nonetheless, it would be my choice for you to annex Buena Vista and make it part of Columbia River.  This way, you can continue your storyline using both regions as one.

I will say that the region looks very interesting and certainly will lend itself to some excellent development.

Vandysaart!  Wow!  My very own City Tile!  Thank you, Mayor Jeroni.  I am quite honored.

The two views you've provided certainly do wet the appetite for more.  They look really good with CycleDogg's trees.  Are you using the in-game textures?

    Update 68
    Costa Tramuntana
68.01 through .05  Thank you for the mini Tunnelling Tutorial.  I always enjoy and appreciate your tutorials.  I learn from them constantly.  .05 looks very, very nice.  You always do such a great job when you build something, Jeroni.  I believe it is your attention to detail that sets you apart.  Excellent work.

    Ets Amunts
68.06 through ,09  Jeroni, you are either a brilliant genius or a slightly mad scientist!  < grin >  I would have NEVER thought to have turned the Citadel into a small residential town.  I would have used it as a ruins.  What a stroke of pure brilliance -- genius thought!  Your town layout is really great.  What a wonderful idea for the Citadel.

68.10  I also love the way you pay attention to the small things such as in this picture.  The children will thank you every time they have the opportunity to play in the wonderful area you've created for them.  Certainly, the parents want to keep a sharp eye out that the little ones don't wander off and fall into the water!

Thank you, Jeroni, for letting me know about the buildings I asked about.  Now that I have the proper mods, I believe I'll be fine.

    Bastian and Miscellaneous
    Bastian
What a handsome young man!  Jeroni, you and your wife have a beautiful son.  He looks so cute in that costume.  Thank you for sharing this wonderful picture.

    Darmoklia
What a great picture of this area.  I really like the very tall stone arched bridge.  I see you have some agriculture and (I'm not sure) a bit of industrial in the middle?

    Vandysaart
I like the network of roads you are building here.  That is an interesting roundabout or, turn-araound you've placed in the lower center.

    Slope Levelling
Very nice set of pictures, Jeroni, and very informative.  Thanks for the information.

    Update 69
    Costa Tramuntana
69.01 and .01  Ah!  Still some virgin territory...

69.03 .04 and .07  I can tell you that whenever I travel within the SimNation, I ALWAYS make it a point to stay at a SimGoober hotel.  They are the BEST!

69.05  Jeroni, I really enjoy your nature and natural areas.  It is very nice to have a place to go to get away from all of the noise and hurry of the city.  It would be so nice to sit by the pond, relax and write some poetry.

69.06 and .08  This looks like it will develop into a very nice resort area.  From what you've stated concerning rich Sims to live here, I would expect this to be a good tax base area for Costa Tramuntana.  Looking forward to seeing it develop.

69.09  EVentually, we all become connected, don't we.  Great overview picture.

69.10  What an interesting commercial area, Jeroni.  I would be interested in seeing what changes you've made to this one-way loop through the commercial district.

    Ets Amunts
61.11  This is quite and interesting entrance to the Citadel.  Would you have the name of the lot you used for this.  I wasn't aware of an arched lot that allowed a road to pass under it.

61.12  Always with your parks, Jeroni.  I can never get enough of them!

61.13  I like the way you set up an area before you start to build.  It really is very nice and gives the finished area a much better overall look and feel.  Great job!

61.14  I do like your use of woods to help complete an area.  You're quite good at using them.  These must be some hearty trees to be able to grow right out of the rocks themselves!  < grin >

Thank you, Jeroni, for this very comprehensive and good update.  I look forward to the next update.

    Regards,

    Vandy

Ooh, time to comment on two of your updates.

1st- That is one squiggely road you produced there with the newly minted (and edited) tunnel and slope mod 1.gif
2nd- Did all those hotels grow on their own?  I'm thinking they look plopped, but who really cares...  And also, curiously, on 69.09 there is a small little O of trees in the lower left of the pic.  Anything significant to that?  I'm just asking because it looks really, really out of place.

I work for the US Army. I go places, visit mean people, and kill them.

Winston Churchill is generall credited for saying something to the effect of: "People sleep soundly in their beds because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf". That about sums up my life, besides the "rough men" part.

I was just about to ask about that ring of trees in 69.09 when I discovered meinhosen already did,
but I'm gonna ask you anyway...hrrm...

Why do you have a little ring of trees in the lower left of the picture?

    So, that's it.

Oh...Almost forgot about the other pictures. Really great update of course. What are your plans
for those huge residental zones? I'm a bit of exciting.

I think I've read about this before somewhere but I'm gonna ask you anyway. That avenue, how did you do? I remember something about marrast but I'm not sure. Maybe it's just me...

Another question. Is it possible to build without cycledogg's terrain mod in this region when using it
in your new region or do you remove it when you build here?

I think that's it for now.

Wow, I can't wait for the click on the Citadel...also, I loved seeing that crazy road layout in CT. Absolutely insane, but in a good way! The new area looks really good, can't wait to see development there.

64 pages long!!!! This is the fastest growing cj ever. And no wonder why. It's just awesome, perfect, outstanding, excellent etc. It's so detailed, every part of it. It must take hours to let it look like this. Anyway it looks awesome (oh.. wait i already said this). Keep it up, you inspired me!

    Hey Jeronji,

The update was very nice, I have to say my favorite shot of the update was 69.03, simply because the SG hotel is so beautiful and that the surroundings are so just wow. The trees the embankments, just amazing. 69.05 was one of the best shots as well..I love the trails you are using, and the pond looks great. 69.11, 69.12, 69.13, 69.14 were also very great, I love the pond kit combined with the paris BATs.

CT is coming along so beautifully. I can't really add much the others have not already said. I agree with Vandy. By the way Vandy, I love your byline with the  journal.  I thought the childrens playground tucked away was a good placement.
I liked the arches across the road and that just means you are doing a great job with the detail of this journal. Which is why it is the best.
    As always,

    Amigo

I can't beat Vandy's so precise and accurate comments I agree fully with him, I'll concentrate on some details.
First, I don't know how many hours I've been on the Stex, but somehow you find beautiful lots that I've never seen!
You have a keen eye my friend!
Second, I'm in love with the work you've done with the citadel. The one thing that amaze me, is the fact that you've put your walls just a bit INSIDE the rock face, so the walls would'nt be flush with it. That's the kind of detailling we rarely if not never see in other CJ's.
In my opinion, this is one of your most beautiful realisation amigo. I never tire to look at it!

As for your decision of annexing Buena Vista, I'm glad you did. You're absolutly right, we may joke with RLS but SC4 is a game and is supposed to give us pleasure, NOT pressure.

    Take care friend!

    Hi,

Nice and Unique Idea about that road system at the commercial block, though I have one suggestion. You could create an intersection on that piece of Avenue close to the One-Way Road. I believe it could reduce commute time for some. Check the picture below.

Jeronij, looking at this CJ, I think I can deduct four of your personal characteristics that, when summed together in one person, provides a killer combination: a) your attention to the detail, b) your vivid imagination, c) your planning skills, d) your clear vision of where you want to go.

It's unlikely for someone to have all those four things... but you have it!...

    Keep up!

I can tell you your new rock texture looks beautifull! Can't tell you though which texture looks more natural, the only time I see real mountains they are covered with snow and I'm snowboarding on them! 2.gif
I envy you for living in such a beautifull environment as Mallorca is.. Personally I live 4.5 meters below sea-level on absolutely flat land.. 41.gif But I guess every place on earth has its advantages and disadvantages.

    Regards.

I definitely prefer the new rock texture.
    It looks more natural

Will you make this mod available in the future ?

Any chance to have snow above a certain height ?

    Great job !

*Sigh* Wow.. I downloaded the rock texture you call 'Old Rock Mod' a few days ago and I was absolutely in love with the way it looks.. Now I've seen your texture and I'm thinking: Oh my God.. I want that one! 9.gif

By the way.. I join Lonaryl in saying that I'm jealous at you for living in Mallorca.. 2.gif I live in the same country as Lonaryl and I can tell you that flat land, riddled with canals, roads and the occasional house does get a bit boring.. Could that be the reason why I build so many mountainous regions in Simcity? I guess so.. 3.gif

    Hello, Jeroni.

DING!  DING!  DING!  DING!  Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a winner!!

This is an EXCELLENT rock mod, Jeroni.  Much more natural looking -- nice, rugged granite texturing.  It looks excellent in your example pictures.  I definitely like this rock mod and certainly hope to see it on the STEX at some future point.

Please help me to understand a term -- PSP.  Are you referring to Paint Shop Pro?
