How to change SFX:Query Sound property? [SOLVED]

Hi guys,

I edited some lots but I don't like their query sound. I found the SFX:Query Sound property and I would want to change its value. My question is: where can I find values of the game query sounds?

Sounds are in the very aptly named Sound.dat file in your game install directory. However if your lot is ploppable then LEProp has a feature which makes this very easy to do (do note that the tool can be a bit janky at times though.

    I did it. Very simple with LEProp. And how can I edit a new sound?

    This post by Pegasus might help. The TRK file attachments are long gone, so my recommendation is to find a lot with some custom sounds and use the TRK files there as a template. Here is one example.

    I insert the wav file and edit trk file but when I click on the building no sound plays. Here the files screenshot. Is there another file to add?

    In the Building Exemplar, what do you have in SFX:Query Sound ?

    Edit: I'm also wondering if the TRK file should have 0b8d821a-ca4d1943-766e3276 for its TGI and then building exemplar points to: 0x766e3276

    I'va changed TGI of TRK file but it doesn,.t work. Can I delete property TLO instance? What is it?

    Grrr. I was comparing to the Peg Memorial as the sample @nos.17 posted.

    Got them and I've been experimenting. I'm completely baffled. o.O

    The tweaking I do (which seems to make sense based on the Peg file sample) doesn't produce sound. I even tried changing all numbers to match Peg's and no luck.

    I'm still testing, but we're prolly going to need the experts to pop in and help out. *:blush:

    You're welcome. We will figure this out. I know it's possible.

    My research has led me to wonder if the wav file itself is the culprit? Can you convert it to a single channel (mono) and change the sampling rate to 22,050? That's the only difference I can find compared to Peg's sample.
