Hello mayors-

I am building a central city that will feed out to 16 small cities, and I have hit a snag. Due to the symmetry I am going for, I need to run monorail through the medians of my avenues. Am I missing this piece in NAM somewhere or does it not exist?

For the moment there are no Puzzle Pieces available that make it possible, but you could do it by making a 1-tile-gap between 2 One-way roads. Keep in mind  that Avenues and One-way roads can be connected, but if the city's built already then you'll have to  demolish some areas.

PS: I suggest you could ask the NAM Team about this, maybe they're working on a Puzzle Piece for Monorail-In-Avenue setups.

Idk what to put here, I guess I'll find out sooner or later.

Unfortunately, these parts never existed and never will since Monorail Maxis has been deprecated and is used as High Speed Railway.

To add to my colleague's comment above,  in the NAM's entire 21-year history, aside from stations, minor bugfixes, and crosslinks between Monorail and the NAM's override networks, we've added exactly two things to the base Monorail network--the High Elevated pieces that were added in NAM 23 (April 2008) and a couple of Wide-Radius Curve pieces that were added in NAM 31 (March 2013).

For various reasons, the Monorail network has never been very popular among transit network modders throughout the game's history, and everyone's been constantly trying to turn it into something else over the years--see High Speed Rail and the Bullet Train Mod.  Monorail Dual-Networking (and specifically, Monorail-over-Avenue Dual-Networking) has been requested on a few occasions from the general public, but beyond the network never having a champion within the team, there's also the fact that the NAM Team has effectively had a moratorium on the creation of traditional puzzle pieces for the past decade (we're all-in on draggables and "FLEX Pieces" . . . which are ploppable items but overrideable, unlike traditional puzzle pieces), so it's going to require a new implementation.

While the basic mechanics of a more modern implementation exist on the drawing board (see the semi-draggable Tram-in-Avenue), they've not been put to the test.  For that reason, it's probably going to require (a) the modern implementation being worked out, and (b) someone who wants to champion the vanilla Monorail network learning the necessary skills to become a NAM contributor, and carrying out development on such a project.
