Your strange fixation on looking for older, obsolete dependencies, when people have explained to you how to look for the right modern ones, is going to burn much goodwill.  Tyberius has been more than patient and generous with his time in trying to assist you, as have others.

Your specially unique setup is going to cause trouble with basic programs like Cleanitol, which are designed around the use of the Documents/Plugins folder setup.  Expect to encounter errors and trouble, particularly if you don't pay attention to the errors or the instructions.

There's no need for this kind of intransigence.  Everyone here is volunteering their time and efforts because they like the game and the community here. Refusal to listen, learn, adapt, and understand will not get you very far.  I've found that most people here are extremely nice, helpful, and willing to go an extra mile for others to enjoy things.  But that behavior goes both ways and you should be humble enough to listen to the experts, particularly when they are the ones you're asking help from and whose time you're wasting with repeated refusal to understand or listen.

You already have almost everything you need, if you took the time to understand things.  I'm sorry I can't help you anymore.

Why does it matter how old the dependencies I require are? This discussion is not about criticizing others; it's about assisting those who need help locating something. I'm not damaging any goodwill by seeking assistance. What's your issue? And stop trying to make me organize my game folder like everyone else. The more you insist, the less inclined I am to comply, and frankly, it's none of your business.

I believe the main reason is cause it's sending peeps on wild goose chases for things which don't exist, but which have been replaced by the same thing under a different name or in a different package or which have been updated and the older version no longer exists.

The issue (as we see it) is numerous people have taken time out to assist with answering your questions, and there's an impression you're not listening to the advice being given. This is the frustrating part from the perspective of everyone replying. You've posted in this topic 50 times within two days. And while there's nothing wrong with asking for help, we want you to now slow down a bit for the rate of posting, and before posting again, please read over the advice people have given you.

I want to clarify that I truly value the assistance I've received so far. However, I still haven't located everything I need. I reach out for help here only after I've tried every other way to find answers. If it seems like I'm overstaying my welcome, that's not my intention. Regarding the age of a file, if the original version is available, why should it matter if someone wants to use it in their plugins? It doesn't harm anyone or affect others at all. I've already expressed my frustration with how older dependencies have been handled. I don't understand why some people feel the need to be confrontational about it. Just help me out or don’t, but please don’t criticize me for my requests. That’s just unnecessary.

What exactly haven't you located yet? You asked a bunch of stuff and we gave answer to all of them. I personally answered your last question about a dependency you were looking for. You have the answer where and how you can find out where is that dependency that you were looking for. So read my comment do as I advised you and you will find it...

Because there is a reason why there is a newer version and why we don't promote the older versions IF they still exist. We will NEVER promote an older version if there is a newer one, because it would give us more support issues. In fact as much it is possible we try to elliminate outdated/older versions. Don't forget it is still our freetime that we spend on maintaining the files.

Because you ask a question, we give an answer and you ignore it and keep arguing that you want this and that because that's what you read in a 20 years old very much outdated readme. If you get an answer, just accept it, because by the look of it we have a bit more experience in this field than you, especially that I personally have spent countless of hours in the past 4 years to check, update and maintain most of those files that you are looking for... We helped you out in all of your questions regarding dependencies, whether you understood it and accept it or not it is not my problem. You don't listen, your loss, I won't have sleepless nights because of it...

I'm still looking for PEG_Hydro-Dam_205, CP Burnt Lodgepole 1 to 5 Prop Family, and the Newman Inc Chemical Plant BSC. That's all I need for now. I assure you, I won't be asking for anything else tonight.

    They don't exist ...

I thought about this, and am still thinking about it because though I've thought about this, I still have more thinking to do as to stop thinking about it would mean not to think.

And you asking why we are getting confrontational. Okay. There you go. ONE LAST TIME I REPEAT MYSELF/QUOTE MYSELF:

    PEG_Hydro-Dam_205

    Quote

But short answer: 207 is the same as 205, but newer version. Still it is the same. You will NOT find the 205 because it is not existing anymore. Probably it was replaced 20+ years ago by PEG himself. So there is not any PEG Hydro-Dam 205, but you have the PEG Hydro-Dam 207. Deal with, accept it.

    Newman Inc Chemical Plant BSC

    Quote

The Newman Inc Chemical Plant is a very old content that was released on STEX 20+ years ago, then it got removed for multiple reasons. The BSC team then reworked it to put it onto the LEX DVD, but it was not re-hosted publicly on the LEX after that. Those props that came with the Chemical Plant are in the BSC MEGA Props Newman INC vol01 v3 (and above - there's going to be a v4 for sure seeing my own notes for myself). Again you found something which is pretty old and is referencing a content which hasn't been around publicly since 2006, however the props were stored in a megapack later.

CP Burnt Lodgepole 1 to 5 Prop Family

    Quote

The second thing, that you only need this tool right now if you want to remove old files. We are talking about you to open the *.txt file with a notepad and you can see the listed outdated files in the text script. For that, you do not need the cleanitol tool. You just need to read the cleanitol script file.

If you read and more importantly understood my previous comment about opening the Mastercleanitol.txt file in NotePad and search for file names in it, you will have your answer... Start listening to us, please...

So what can't you still locate?

    • Thanks 1

This response is a bit perplexing for me. You indicate that props from it were incorporated into a collection called BSC MEGA Props Newman INC vol01 v3. I have no knowledge of what that entails or how to access it. As a result, I'm still left in the dark. Are you telling me that BSC MEGA Props Newman INC vol01 v3 is an existing pack, or has it not yet been made available to the public?

Probably @philforhockey51 is right and you are practicing selective reading. I shared this with you after I shared an image of the google search that I conducted about the PEG Hydro-dam.

You see this is what I don't get. Now over 3 pages we try to explain to you how the naming system is working with versions and volumes and you just keep ignoring it. Is the 205 before or after 207? What do you think if there is a 207 which is a higher version number than the 205, will you find the older/obsolete version? You've been playing for 3 years and we are back again at the same spot like before, that you are seemingly taking the piss. I don't think it is deliberate, don't get me wrong, but first you need to learn basics otherwise we will just keep doing the same circles.

But short answer: 207 is the same as 205, but newer version. Still it is the same. You will NOT find the 205 because it is not existing anymore. It was in front of you if you read throught the description of the Hydrom Dam download page there are indications that it is a reworked verions, there is a key indictor for a version 2.05 which is the waterfall bottom lot which still has a 2.05 version number. It's all on the download page. You don't need to be all-knowing, just use your brain.

Yeah sure, do what you want. If you have a lack of understanding, try chatgpt, it might help you translate your language what I just wrote... Might help. At this point I'm not sure if chatgpt will have more luck with you than me.

Nothing. Never mind. I am the true evil and deliberately hide these files from you. I wiped them out from the existence. I hacked everybody's computers and removed them from everywhere so you can not have them. That's a job like this...

Are you really not going to clarify if BSC MEGA Props Newman INC vol01 v3 exists or where I can locate it? I'm genuinely confused about how your explanation regarding opening the Mastercleanitol.txt file in NotePad relates to finding the CP Burnt Lodgepole 1 to 5 Prop Family. Why are you being so hostile and sarcastic towards me? I've remained respectful throughout our conversation.

I didn't realize that "207" referred to an updated version. Peg has a smaller Hydro dam named "100," so I thought that was just his naming style. Not everyone catches on to such things.

Very simple. If that is listed in the text file as something made obsolete by the new pack then it means the contents you are looking for are now in the revised pack. (And that's why the old version is no longer applicable.) So that really is the answer. Asking again and again is what is causing peeps to get frustrated.

Thank you for taking the time to explain this to me in such a respectful and calm way. If the props I need are in a revised pack, how can I find out which pack it's in?

I honestly don’t understand why Tyberius bothers to respond if he’s just going to be so unfriendly. Whenever I post something on this site and he replies, I feel completely shut down. He acts like everyone should just know what he knows, but that’s not realistic. It comes off as quite rude, and I believe a moderator should set a better example.

Tyberius (Tibi) is one of the most friendly and helpful peeps I've ever met.

I've followed along with the entire back and forth comments in here and I too feel like he has given you the answers you need. When you then ask the same thing in a slightly different way if feels like disrespect towards him and his tireless efforts. I can sense his frustration growing all while he's been trying very hard to give you the info you've requested.

It seems like I'm not going to get a straightforward answer regarding the BSC MEGA Props Newman INC vol01 v3. I'm really puzzled about what he was trying to explain to me. I take it that "v3" indicates there were two earlier versions, right? So, why haven't I come across them?

You are asking why I'm getting upset... THIS IS YOUR image of your plugins folders, your own BSCProps folder. Do you see the dependency pack that you are looking for? Because I see two version of them, one which you are specifically looking for... So what is your problem?!

Is this pack authentic? I checked the SC4D LEX Legacy - BSC Common Dependencies Pack V9b, and it shows the newest version as v2. How is that possible?

Someone's really pushing the sarcasm limit here. It's not cool, man. I can totally ask questions, you know.

This is a pathetic effort to shame me.

If I'm the "Original Poster," can I delete the thread? No?

@CorinaMarie Do you endorse this immaturity?

You could have just deleted the posts. That was a bit much.

Absolutely not. I'm not engaging in your immature antics. You intentionally tried to embarrass me and sideline me from this discussion so that my questions go unanswered. Very grown-up of you.

Nothing has been deleted. Moved back to the main CFI topic as you replied in response to my reply.

No one is childish here, and everything is fine.

I have a strong feeling that I'm the only person on this entire platform who has experienced this. Am I mistaken? Why are you reacting so aggressively to my inquiries? Isn't it a valid question to ask why a mod would list version 8 of a bat pack as a dependency when version 2 is the latest one out there? Or is it that you simply don't care?

I'm not sure why I'm suddenly receiving all the hostility here now. I understand you've been frustrated by all this, but I honestly moved your posts to a new topic thinking it'd be best for the community. This is nothing against you or to shame you in the slightest. We're all volunteers here trying our best. As I said, this thread you're welcome to ask new follow-up questions inside about dependencies specifically. I like many here, absolutely do care about helping you and others.

Stop pretending to be oblivious. You are intentionally trying to embarrass me in front of others for simply being curious. It's foolish and quite childish, and I refuse to engage in your antics.

I’m not sure I understand the issue here. When you say version 8 do you mean volume 8? This seems like the same issue again. There used to be many different gascooker prop packs. This older mod references volume 8, back when everything was separate. Since then, everything has been repackaged into MEGA prop packs, of which the latest version of the gascooker MEGA prop pack is v2

CB, myself, and a few other staff members all felt it would be better to move your posts and the associated replies to their own topic. That was not to shame you, but to help consolidate them while also returning this topic to its normal flow of quick questions and answers.

We will not be badgered and told we are unfriendly or immature when doing what we all feel is best for the community.

I've had enough of this and it will stop now.

And, I'll speak for myself here, but splitting off threads is a perfectly normal way to handle long digressions. It happens all the time around here, and indeed has happened to me before. It's not a value judgment on the content of the digression itself. It's just a practical way to handle something that has grown to the point of meriting its own topic.

If somebody runs into this thread they might find it informative, so I leave my comment from the CFI thread here as well:

A pro-tip regarding old BSC related dependency contents: There are only 4 texture packs which covers more or less everything that the BSC Team had done during their active years until 2013-ish. These are the:

    • BSC Textures Vol01 (aka BSC Textures MEGA Pack or BSC MEGA Textures Pack - this is also an archaic naming for a texture compilation which contained dozens of separate texture related DAT files  - including several early PEG textures and CSX Textures among many others - and had not been available in this form after it got combined into the single texture pack that we know as BSC Textures Vol01)
    • BSC Textures Vol02 - it is a follow up compilation of early texture sets it also contain texture from the original BSC Textures MEGA Pack that did not fit into the Vol01. So it is safe to say if something in an old readme was referencing this BSC Textures MEGA Pack one will need either Vol01 or Vol02 or both of these BSC Textures compilations.
    • BSC Textures Vol03 (currently it has its 5th version aka v5) - this was an other follow up texture compilation containing originally texture sets that were created up until the end of 2008, but since we started re-hosting the old LEX contents and we started compiling the old BSC dependency packs into this BSC Common Dependencies compilation, it received various updates and eventually now contains as far as I know all the textures that were created by the BSC Team between 2008 and 2013/2014.
    • BSC TexturePack CycleDogg (it is referenced sometimes as V1 or V1b this is a version indication and highly unlikely that it will get ever any updates) - this is a single person texture compilation made by @CycleDogg, but due to its size it was never compiled with the other sets. It also doesn't contain textures from other members.

So in the future if one sees a reference to a BSC texture pack it is 99.99% that person will find it in one of the BSC Textures Volumes either Vol01 or Vol02 or Vol03.

The prop dependencies are a bit more complicated to hunt down, but if somebody has a particular file that they are looking for and it is related to one of the former BSC members (they can read the members' usernames and their used initials/short names in the readme of the BSC Common Dependencies), they can always open the Cleanitol_MASTER REMOVE LIST_BSC Common Dependencies Pack Version 9a.txt file which can be found within the ZIP of the upload in the ~Documents\Prop-Texture Catalogue Index and Cleanitol\ folders**.
They should open this file with a notepad and use the search function typing either the full name or the part of the name of the dependency file what they are looking for. If they find that name or some kind of version of it in the list in the Cleanitol file, that means the BSC Common Dependencies pack contains the dependency that they were looking for even if it got repackaged or renamed over the years and now a MEGA Pack contains those dependencies. In the cleanitol script there is always a "header" with the name for the replacement dependency pack and below it they will find the listed files that it replaces like this:

    Quote

    >REMOVE LIST - BSC Textures vol03 v5 - This is the so called HEADER for the replacement file (in this case this is the remove list for the BSC Textures Vol03 v5.dat). Below this the listed old/obsolete dependencies can be seen that this compilation replaces.

The dependency files that are replacing some older files also have their own single cleanitol script which everybody can find in the cleanitol subfolder like this:

    Cleanitol_BSC Textures vol03 v5.txt

I hope this helps many people to locate and find out where the old dependencies got stored over the years.

EDIT for additional information: so for example if sombody sees a reference to BSCBATProps Gascooker Vol 08.dat that means it is belong to Gascooker and he has MEGA Prop Packs. They can check the master cleanitol text file and see if this file is listed there. They might find references using short names or initials like this: GC_Flowermarket.dat. IF they then check the readme of the common dependencies and search for the "GC" it will tell them, that GC is also Gascooker. So there is a hight possibility that they will find this dependency in one of his MEGA Prop packs.
