Hey there guys

This here will be the place where I'm gonna post pics and progress of the things I'm working on - BATs, LOTs, MODs and else

Also a index of already published plugins on the STEX - I will decorate this place better later

    Looks good! Not a fan of the night window used for the front of the store though, I think it's a bit too "washed out" but nice nonetheless. *:thumb:

    I totally agree! It's my achilles heel, something I really need to improve in my next productions

    4 colors in 2 versions. All tests dones and found no issues - they are growing just fine, not appearing all over your city and they dont stand out between other buildings. You just need 2 dependencies to make it work: BSC Commom Dependencies Pack and SuperSHK MEGA Parking Textures.

    Unfortunately I'm not a superb LOTter so the 2x2 could be a lot better. You're totally free to LOT it as you want to make it prettier *;)

    I will problably release it later today *;)

    looks good  I appreciate your efforts to nightlight even though you don't need it for your gameplay   very happy to see new content for that part of the world too

    You can notice two things: 1 - I'm just a starter BATter *:P and 2 - I don't know how to nightlight my creations.

    I don't use the night time in my gameplay, and when I learned how to BAT I simply didn't mind to learn how to nightlight since I wouldn't need it to my personal use - the problem is, if I want to release to the public, I will need to do it rightly since other people like to play the game with night settings, and well, as you can see, I'm still learning how to do that *:P

    Also I'm planning creating one or two more versions of it, changing the colors to give us more variety.

    I also found an old .sc4model of a residential building I created two years ago - unfortunately I don't have the .3ds file anymore, so I can't improve it, meaning this one will not make it to the STEX  ☹

    This is one have many errors that unfortunately I can't fix, so I just made a ~pretty LOT to it and I will keep it with me to fill some gaps in my W2W finnish towns.

    I would be happy to download your unfinished building to see if it can be made to look good with just some lot work and a few props   I've seen worse on the exchange and have managed to make them more presentable (at least for my uses)   and Iam glad to se a new batter willing to share their creations

    You did a great job in that LOT, far better than me lol - and happy to see you found it useful

    I don't really have update on uploaded BATs - even though I'm working on a 2x2 finnish smalltown barber shop/commercial store. Maybe later in this month it will be on STEX - with better nightlights than my last plugin *:lol:

     

    Buuuuuuuuuuut I want to show you guys something I'm working on to help me in my new entry on my city journal The Karelian Republic:

    I'm creating (but not recreating) a city based on the russian city of Priozersk - and in that city there's an old fortress turned on a museum. When I was creating that city I first thought I wasnt going to build it since I wasn't finding a nice and suitable asset to use as that museum. But well, I thought the city was a bit empty and with no distinct landmark so I tried to make my version of that fortress.

    It also has no nightlight since I'm not planning on releasing it to the STEX, but of course, if anyone is interested in these 4 models (maybe I will create some "damaged walls" to add more personality to it or that other building between the two "houses" that I dont even know what it is lol) I will attach here to you *;)

    thank you   I am definitely interested in those 4 models   there really isn't a lot of historic buildings from that part of the world in SC4

    I like this little business building      it could be low wealth or med wealth commercial services (restaurant and salon)   I see you worked to recreate the RL lot as well

    I like the details like the ladder to the roof and the AC units on the rear wall    would be nice to have a little weathering on the roof but I also see some of the buildings in the neighborhood seem to have fairly clean roofs so maybe just a small bit of fading?   thank you for creating new content for SC4

    I agree, this is a nice little building. I would apply a medium brown gradient to the roof texture to weather it a bit, but other than that, I really like it.

    Hey guys

    I'm working on a new W2W building - a very generic commercial to fill your european neighbourhood

    Its a 2x1 lot, very simple, no props or custom textures in that one, just the building. Not much to show yet, I'm gonna create some alt versions of it changing the colors to give us more variety.

    Hey guys

    I've basically finished this building - with three color variations

    The thing is: as you can see, it's occurring a weird graphical bug in the sides of the windows in my computer. But after talking to BATs experts (ty madhatter), it turns out this glitch may not appear to everybody, just some people, and even maybe just for me.

    So I will share it here, and if its possible for you, I would like for you guys to download it and see if this glitch happens in your SC4

    ps: if you use the cheat "buildingplop" you can search for the buildings very quickly, they are named "JCP_VarkausGenericRed/Green/Black", and you wont need to wait it to grow naturally by zoning

    I will problably release the BAT I showed you guys above in a pack with 3~5 different models in 3 colour schemes each = resulting in something between 9 and 15 different BATs to your european cities!

    I wonder if you could add a bit more texture to the walls of the building though. As is they look quite plain.

    I'm not BATting that much lately, so I don't have any update in these matters, but I started a new SC4 project and people in the discord server has been interested in some custom content I did to this new region so I will upload one of these mods here now, but first a bit of context:

    I started a new plugins folder based on tropical regions - more specifically south asian, a bit of Goan influence even though there's not that much indian BATs available so I can't make it as realistic as I want :P - and one tropical trait are these utility poles on the sidewalks, and the only mod that gives us that is this japanese one:

    But as you can see, it adds more props along the utility poles, like (many) manholes, japanese trees, fences, gardens, etc which make sense to Japanese environment, but not latin, african, south/southeast asian regions. And it "only" add these props to Road, Street and SAM 3 and SAM 4. So I not only removed these additional props that don't really fit to tropical cities, but also created two new versions with only utility poles being added: SAM 5 (trolca dirt street) and SAM 7 (dark asphalt street)

    As someone also making a tropical-themed southeast asia/india type region this will be helpful, thanks!

    (And, unrelated question: I've likewise found not a whole lot of buildings from this region, and I think I've been through basically everything on the STEX and am now hunting through dependency packs for extra buildings... is there anywhere else I should look for tropical third-world type content? I already have most of the LBT stuff, + as much as I could find from debussyman, harishna, ct1999, wallibuk, maloskero, adrianor, thailand BAT team. In particular it's harder to find higher-stage residential/commercial buildings that look appropriately weathered unless I concede to having a significant Japanese/Chinese presence, but there's also a shortage of non-Christian places of worship and open-air markets)
