File unstable after editing with Lot Editor

See title. I made some minor edits to one of Gascooker's UK High Street lots (nothing fancy: deleted some props, changed base texture), but in doing so I must have altered something that resulted in the lots being unstable. Opening the edited file with the LE results in a crash, but only if the original file is not present in the plugins folder.

After comparing the original lot and the edited one through Ilive's Reader I noticed the exemplar file for the new is rather different. I suspect that's why I'm running into this issue, but I can't tell what exactly is causing it. I tried to simply copy the exemplar file from the original to the edited one, but that didn't seem to have any effect.

I've attached both lots in this post. Hoping someone can take a look and figure out what happened. (Note to mods, please remove the original lot if this goes against the rule of redistributing other people's work)

If you used MAXIS Lot Editor then you created an override that upsets the original lot. My recommendation is to use PIM-X as you can create a lot and at the same time reduce the time in editing

Did a quick test with one of these lots and it worked brilliantly. I've got some spare time, guess it's finally time to say goodbye to the LE

    Edit:

Just to confirm: if I do the following, PIM-X will overwrite the original file and the properties of these lots should stay exactly the same, right?

    1) Select building from list

    2) "Open lot(s) using this building/family"

    3) "Lot Editor" + edits

    4) Hit "Save"

Yes. Go to edit the original file
