UPDATE 9: Missing Links Audit

Thanks to all the batters for their amazing works. Now building that were no longer exist, has been immortalized and see their days again in the virtual world.

As much known real-life BATs from various sources, have been found and located in Google Maps using My Maps function. Maps will be gradually released in Chapters throughout year 2022.

Notes:

• BATs that are features in these maps should be based on real life, good quality and/or as little derivation from real buildings as possible. Personal subjective judgment may cause some works to be excluded.
• Maps were arranged into regions, country, or cities. Especially when it is NYC, it has so many BATs it is divided into 3 maps.
• Icons in the maps are for preview purpose only, it may not fully reflected the BATs actual game data. Please read the linked descriptions for further detail. Some common icons include:

Growable buildings may have a ploppable variant in Landmark or Reward.

🏙️ – Office. Mostly a skyscraper.

🛍️ – Big commercial services. Maybe a mall or shopping complexes.

🏪 – Shops, small commercial services. Maybe a walk-up style building.

🛏️ – Commercial services. Hotel.

🏭 – Any industries.

🏠 – Any residential, range from single home to high rises.

🏛️ – Civil buildings, government buildings.

🎓, 🚸, 🎭, 📖 –Functioning university, school, opera, library. Should be found in education tabs.

📛, 🏫, 🇭– Police, Fire department, Hospital.

⭐ – General landmarks or parks. Other icons include ♖, ⛲ or 🌲.

✝️, 🛐, ☪️ etc... – Religious buildings.

🚆 – Any rail transit stations.

I hope by creating these maps, new players should be able to looking for buildings and discover high quality creators more easily. While seasoned players can use real life reference to make better design decisions while dropping banger for city journals.

Hi, in the BeNeLux (62 BATs) you have atleast one wrong. The BAT "Oppies Parkstad Limburg Stadion", is not Stadion de Geusselt in Maastricht (played by MVV). But the Parkstad Limburg Stadion in Kerkrade (played by Roda JC Kerkrade). Big mistake if you are fan of one of those two clubs, because they are derby rivals. ;-)

And with that, conclude the 20 year worth of real life BAT since the release of SimCity 4. This side project of mine has been a long making, since YE 2021.

20 year is both a long time and short time for buildings: Some building are standing like forever, some are gone, but they may immortalized in our world.

Thank you to SimCity 4, and BATters, and city journalist for their free time, to awe us, inspire us.
Creating countless lively imagination, and bring us to interesting journey in our unique own way.

This game, while don't see as many player and creator anymore compare to modern counterpart Cities Skyline, however I am grateful that this community are still with us, especially NAM still has update until today.

May the next 20 years be amazing as always.

ps...if there is any admin know how to insert my map of the listed BATs above in their respective download page, that would be very cool to look at, especially able to see their neighbourhood context.

AUDIT ON MISSING LINKS

As of today, 2024, rest assure that I will actively maintain and updated the maps with new BATs, or newly discovered BAT, or recovered SC4E links. However, I would advice admins to keep a copy of those maps as KML files, as long as we cannot guarantee Google to keep the Users map service available, or the valid link available, or I will be available.

Since the demise of SC4D LEX and Kurier SimCity Plaza, the teams of SC4E, Project ZIP, still active users are diligently recovering contents from those sites, while introducing the latest file arrangement methods (and introducing the powerful Submenu DLL). However as we the hobbyist community cannot give all the time for it, the time taken to recover them all need quite a bit of time. So this audit is a list of files from those site, awaiting to be reintroduce. This is a Google Docs link, that means the link will be updated dynamically.

Anyone from the recovery teams could DM me to allow your edit access in these Google Docs, or if error was found in the maps.
