Signals on the Wrong Side of Roads

My region since I started this one in 2015 has always been a Left Hand Driving Region. I notice that the traffic signals face the wrong way on my roads. Is there a way to fix to make them face the right way to suit my LHD cities?? Or is this something that is just hard coded in the game?

It is possible to fix them, though it's a lot of work.  While the game did include the LHD mode, with the path flipping mechanism, Maxis did not produce LHD versions of the Type 21 exemplars (also known as "Network Lots", or simply "T21s") in order to place the signals on the correct side for that drive side, nor did they even produce the props to handle it.  Being consistent with the Maxis specifications, the signalized NAM items do not have LHD T21s, either--save for the FLEX Turn Lanes (FTLs), as I hacked together some mirrored props, and memo and I set up the LHD localization to be handled on the RUL end, rather than on the texture/paths end.

In short, it requires making LHD replacement T21s for every signalized intersection.  ebina-san (brilliant Japanese modder who did all the NAM's LHD work between NAM 22 and NAM 28) started a project like that, but it wasn't finished, IIRC--the latest version of it was from 2009.  (It's an attachment to an SC4D post, so you'd need to be logged in over there to see it.)

I wrote a tutorial on LHD play with SC4/NAM, it's got a lot of useful tips and links to mods that help make LHD cities a reality. Specifically here you'll want to use the LHD versions of both Mandelsoft's SRM (Stoplight Replacement Mod) and Jondor's Modular Railroad Crossings.

Sadly the former hasn't been updated for a while, the biggest missing feature is the new FTL crossings, the legacy TuLEPs work though. The later only covers OxO and OxD (where rail/glr is the latter) crossings.

I've been slowly working on a complete LHD set of T21s myself, but it's a lot of work and at present RL prevents me from making much progress. But very much on my todo list is fixing up some errors in SRM and adding FTL support for the mod.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.
