Hello,

I added custom icons to my dat using LEProp. The LTEXT and everything else in exemplar doesn't get damaged. But, the dir file is corrupted somehow.

This makes this mod not appearing on the respective menu (Park). How should I do to rebuild the dir file? Ilive's feature is very bad at rebuilding dir file.

Hi chfzdn,

It appears in the case of the file you've got there, with all the file entries having "N" for the compression it means a DIR file isn't needed.

This is because there are no files which are compressed, and the only reason for having a DIR file is for indexing one or more compressed entries. This then forms an index which the game uses for decompressing all entries within the .dat container file (along with memory allocation).

At least on Reader 0.9.3 the DIR should be automatically rebuilt upon save.

However, here are the steps to rebuild it manually if needing to:

  1. Right click the DIR file and choose the option: Remove file
  2. On the popup dialog, press the Yes button to confirm. The DIR will disappear from the listing.
  3. Right click the empty panel and click: Rebuild Directory File
  4. Do the same again right clicking the empty panel, and this time click: ReIndex
  5. At this point if (and only if) a DIR is needed, one will appear in the list of file entries.

    It worked. Thanks @Cyclone Boom!
