Hello,

Park aura is important to stimulate the growth of the city. The question is, how to produce park aura with lots?

Thanks.

Plop the park lot in your city and run some game time. *:P

If you are editing a Lot in Reader, add the property 0x27812850  in the Building Exemplar. This is the Park Effect. It needs two reps of data. The first is the magnitude (strength of the effect) and the second is the radius in city tile cells.

You can load any of the Maxis parks in Reader to see how they've been set.

I know about the park effect but is it purely aura or a true park effect?

Hmm. I'm not sure what the difference would be.

It definitely is an Aura which enhances desirability. If you can let me know what you mean by park effect (inasmuch as how that's different from a park aura), maybe I can provide a better answer.

I need the aura, not necessarily the park effect.

You plop the parks, you get the aura. Simple as that. Matter of fact, I usually have a big purple blob in Cori's Aura mod, even before anybody lives there. You might be confusing this with the Landmark effect, which affects business development.

Maybe @chfzdn is asking about the temporary "aura" that comes with planting trees. IIRC, it fades over time, becoming one of the causes of growth followed by abandonment.

@chfzdn, there is an Aura Simulation Exemplar. Aura appears to be just another term for Desirability. If you look at this exemplar (IID 0xAA023079) in either Reader, or DataNode, all the properties relate to Residential Desirability, so it's likely it is only used in this regard. One of the properties is "Aura, Park Effect," but there is nothing known specifically as "park aura" as far as I know.

Note that the word "aura' does not appear at all in the Prima Guide for SC4 Deluxe.

That could be the "Transient Aura Effect" instead.

The transient aura effect. That's the stimulus I want.

I use the transient aura effect frequently.

I ran tests on this, using a single bus stop that I plopped and bulldozed multiple times, and published the results in the comments under @CorinaMarie's most excellent tutorial on the subject of stimulating new property development.
