Yes, due to the way that they are, it is true how SC4 content items are only compatible with the game itself. The main reason for BAT models is because of how they're not true 3D models, and the textures are layered on to give the illusion of how they display realistically from the isometric perspective. Other games like SC13 and Cities Skylines for example do use genuine 3D models, and this is the reason why SC4 items cannot be used in other games (and vice versa).
