SC4 Launcher auto saving even though the feature is turned off

I recently returned to SimCity 4 after a very long layoff. I just built a new system with Windows 10 (not a fan) so the game is freshly installed and so is SC4 Launcher. It seemed to be working fine initially, but while playing yesterday it saved out of the blue. So I quit and checked the Launcher setup and as you can see in the screenshot, the Auto Save is turned off, but it is still saving and logging the events (I set to 1 min so as not to wait long to see if it was working). Interestingly, the checkbox and words "Enable auto saving" are bold even though the box isn't checked. I'm not sure but it seems to me it was gray under Win7.

Since the I first noticed the problem I've launched the game maybe 25 times and only once did the auto saves NOT happen.

I've tried to uninstall the Launcher by right-clicking and choosing uninstall but it's not in the list of Programs. An over the top install didn't cure the problem.

I suppose I could set the auto save interval to the max (120 min) but then I'd have to set a timer to remind me because I sometimes play that long and exit without saving because I'm not satisfied with what I've done. I just don't want it saving my mistakes.

Anyway, has anyone else had a similar issue? Anyone have a way to get the launcher to function as it should?

There are actually 2 separate programs out there that do essentially the same thing:  "SimCity 4 Launcher" (although it is also listed as "SC4Launcher" - no space), which is what you are using and another actually called "SC4 Launcher" (with a space), which is what I use.

If SimCity 4 Launcher was working correctly under Windows 7, that would suggest that it might not be completely compatible with Windows 10. Reading through some of the comments for this download, it seems that others have had problems using this program under Windows 10.

I have had no problems running SC4 Launcher (by @Logic_Bomb) under Windows 10.

Sorry that I have never been through this Launcher before, however i have a small suggestion of it, Is it possible some issue is relevant to authority of win10? If so, may could solve it by give full access to the Launcher, For instance, run it as administrator, Or you may could find out some setting or ini file in its folder, search in its content to see if some autosave property there. Sorry for if couldn't be more helpful, If still have no luck, i could help you by install it in my comp tomorrow. Good Luck! Lake.
