Hey guys, I'm wondering why my CS$ isn't developing. I have HUGE areas set aside for them, and when I plop down CS$ structures, they seem to have workers, so I'm wondering why they aren't growing organically. Here is the RCI. My offices keep re and re-developing, making larger ones, but I can't seem to get CS$ unless I plop them down using B62 or something else.

Thanks!

Well there you go. If you plop before the manager is ready, then the manager will be knocked for a loop.

Plopping buildings as opposed to letting them develop means that the demand for commercial has been satisfied by the plopped building. As long as you have lots of plopped building then the demand graph will be skewed. Best policy, demolish the plopped C, let the simulator run a few years as the normal C develops, then once the area has developed you can plop a few C buildings but don't overdo it.

Okay, that's cool, it's bc I saw that even when I plopped stuff, the C$ demand simply wouldn't change. I ran it for a month and it still didn't change

The simulator can take some time to filter these things thru. A month running will only show you the immediate effect, which is all your plopped buildings sucking up the employees/demand before the simulator can recalculate/rebalance the graphs and give you a true picture which will take 6 months plus running as a minimum.

One thing to add from @jeffryfisher's advice in another thread, we have to be careful about running the game for a certain number of months without specifying the game speed. If run on the fastest (Cheeteh) setting it might actually take several game years because when the internal processes get overloaded at high speed, the game will alternately skip various sub routine updates and work them in when it can.

So, to run 6 months game time, go no faster than the middle speed setting. (The slowest is even better.) *;)

Ah, thank you! I've been doing that and only CO$$ and CO$$$ is developing in those areas. I've rezoned it as IHT bc it didn't work. But anyways, I'm trying to get this city to 1 million people and I can't simply do it. It just stops at about 900,000 and Idk how to get it larger.

Oh, I've rezoned as High Density, but my EQ is 200, so it's all HT industry popping up
