Need help with Jacku Ave-2 Mod

Hey guys!

So, I've recently found a conflict in my plugins, and it is related to Jacku's NWM Ave-2 T21 Mod here; https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/26842-nwm-ave-2-t21-tree-lined-road/

The conflict I run into comes with the LRM (light replacement mod) . Aparently these two cannot co-exist. (Problem also happens when Tariel-Rivit's Essentials is present, because this also contains the LRM override)
Does anyone know if there is a way to modify Jacku's mod so that it works even when LRM is present??

What's the nature of the conflict? @Yarahi

EDIT: Hm... Sh... The TL-Rivit Essentials wouldn't conflict by default, but it includes Rivit's Custom Modified version of the LRM 4.0 US settings... Hm... have you tried with the LRM 5.1?
Is that conflicting too, with this mod above?

@Tyberius06 As you can see in this pic, all of the props from Jacku's mod(right) is ignored whenever LRM is present (left)

Edit: I am using LRMv5 USA-set if it helps

Load order issue. Make the AVE-2 T21 mod load after the LRM and it will work. Also If you have access to SimCity China you can download the original T21 mod from Jacku. But this STEX version is better in a way. I like the porkie fences.

    I hope it helps.

EDIT: Actually this might be something which will fall under the @STEX Custodian's territory to bring some of those mods here to STEX. Jacku has many NWM based T21 mods.

After all this time - that was all it was. I had LRM in a folder which loads after z___NAM... (and if I'm correct that is where the Ave-2 mod needs to be)

Are these files which originated somewhere besides the China site? As in: Are the ones on the China site simply copies they acquired from some now defunct site?

The STEX versions from @958517907 are simply based on Jacku's originals. You can use these or those originals but they have some "conflicting", identical examplar IIDs. They affect onto the same stuff. Jacku's original is using planters and trees, while this one is using lamps and trees and porkie fences.

Jacku has more to cover more NWM networks.

    @Yarahi

With NAM 37 there will not be z___NAM folder anymore only one Network Addon Mod folder. Use with these t21 mods, carefully paying attention which mod overwrites exactly what, a z_____(5 underscores)modname folder, just in case. It needs to after z___NAM and LRM too. Also check if you have other mod which would modify the t21s on your AVE-2 network.

@CorinaMarie Before I will officially propose to bring these files here, I will check around, but as far as I know they were released on simcitychina only.

Ah, I see. My original thought was that @958517907 simply had uploaded Jacku's files on his behalf. My mistake  >.<

I have seen this info on SC4D. Figure I'll deal with that once I get that far. For now the problem was solved by simply moving LRM into the root of the plugins folder so that it loads before Jacku's mod.

That I have already made sure. Only use one mod per network

Thanks a lot for your help figuring out the load order issue, and for the info on Jacku's content *:thumb: Brownie points all over!!

Indeed but this isn't a load order issue in the slightest, i.e. this is not fixable without manually combining and editing the T21s from both mods. Since both T21 mods apply to the same network piece (ID), both simply can never coexist, one will always override the other, even if it looks like they are both working, they are not. By making Jacku's mod load after LRM, you are getting that mod without the LRM lights/lightcones, in other words LRM is suppressed for these pieces.

The simplest solution would be to edit the LRM T21s to add the fence/car props from Jacku's mod to the lights used by LRM. You could go the other way around, swapping the lights from Jacku's mod to those from LRM, dealers choice really, but the latter necessitates an override which the former doesn't. In both these scenarios, you won't see the original props/lights from Jacku's mod though, instead you'd get the LRM lights. You could add the LRM lightcones to the prop used by Jacku's mod, but this gets more complicated/time consuming.

If you'd be happy to have the other Props from Jacku's mod, with the lights from LRM, since it's only 2 T21s, I'd be happy to make the necessary changes to combine them for you.

Jacku's original and the above linked mod is different. They are actually incompatible in a way. Both having the 0x51010000 and 0x51010001 examplars (also LRM using this too), but Jacku's has more additional props with different IIDs. But this is a different T21 mod having effect on the same thing.

LRM has dedicated AVE-2 IIDs. The above mod from STEX will override this with the CP trees and porkie fences, poles. It is that simple. In Jacku's original AVE-2 T21 there is light t21 too.

Otherwise it won't affect on anything.

Editing the LRM might be a cleaner way, but changing the load order as I described above will do the work.

Althoug I see your point. With Jacku's original this sounds better, indeed, than changing just the load order.

Well it depends really on what you are trying to achieve, certainly if you just want to see the Jacku mod then yes, just make that load after LRM. I'm just making the leap that if you installed both, you might prefer to see the LRM lighting system used in combination with other visual niceties of Jacku's mod.

Yes, but there is a difference between a lit Prop and an actual light or lightcone, such as Maxis streetlights. The former can not affect anything, i.e. light up objects in it's radius. To do that, you'd need to use the LRM props instead or create a new one that used the original prop with a lightcone. It's kinda been on my todo list anyway, so I'll see what I can do here.

Less of a patch and more of a replacement mod, but I've sorted out the T21s to combine the seasonal trees, PK props and LRM lights.

Drop the attached file into the LRM mod's folder, ensuring it loads last within that. In other words, if your LRM installed folder uses subfolders, add a new one named to load last and drop this file there. It must load after the equivalent LRM T21s, since it overrides some. Don't forget to remove the previous mod, there simply was no technical means to provide this fix that kept the original file also (see below for full details).

    Spoiler

For starters, to keep LRM compatibility I needed to expand the T21s from 2 to 6 total.

There were also some issues, properties used by Lots, but that aren't needed for T21s. I have resolved that by remaking everything from new templates. I don't think these are an issue in the game itself, since I too use this same mod. In fact, there is a reason I'm happy to put some time in to covert this mod for LRM use ;). But they certainly caused no end of problems with the T21 editor tool I use, which kept crashing.

I've had to change patterns and other fundamentals too, but this is really to have consistency with LRM's setup and in no way some sort of error.

Due to the brighter LRM light-cones, the lights appear only every other tile now.

The next step is to create a unique new prop combining the old Prop with new light cones. One issue is the need for 4 light cones or 5 Props to be linked from a single RKT4 exemplar, which will mean many reps in practise. Simply because I've never seen so many, I can't be 100% sure this will actually work. But, don't rush to update every AVE2 network if this sounds appealing, chances are I'll have this second option available soon, I certainly like these PK posts. Actually, I'm a big fan of the green lampposts by SWI21 too, so I'll probably do some tests with those also.
