Custom Content Indexes?

On my website I was using a program called RSDirectory to record all the community SC4 exchanges and what plugins were available and on what website it was on, when I shut my website down I exported the list out as a spreadsheet and uploaded them into the Omnibus into 27 different files based on the letters of the alphabet as the list was too big to do as a single article.

When I started indexing these sites it was purely as a means of locating a dependency file, these days unfortunately the index is proving useful to people to work out what was on a site before it shutdown, given that situation what would people prefer to have the current situation or have the information reloaded but this time by the website it was on (or is still on).

If I understand your question, you are asking if the indexes should stay sorted by file name or should they be rearranged by the site they are on. If so, I believe they would be more useful by file name although pulling out a reorganized set for the Polska files would certainly be useful for that project.

I gave @Tyberius06  a excel spreadsheet the other day, but it got me thinking about this as in the last year I've probably pulled out specific exchange data about 5-6 times for people which I'm happy to do .... and given I'm going to be tidying up the omnibus I'm sort of wondering just what do people use ... what's already on the omnibus or having lists by website or having both options available to them.
