I've taken a look inside the mod and it's prolly the most complicated one I've ever seen. I haven't any clue how to make changes to it. :O

However, it does say this in the ReadMe file:

Quote

-Nights may become too dark during rain/snowstorms. If this happens lightning can be reset by toggling between day and back to night mode again. In this case unfortunately it is necessary that the weather lot has power. If you don’t want to power the lot, or the solution does not work I recommend to turn the game to day mode, until the storm has passed over.

So, the author was well aware that it gets too dark at times.

LOL, yes I know the feeling, I poked inside the hole digger/raiser lots he made a few weeks back, then quickly ran away from my computer reeling. Xannepan really did have a unique understanding of some of the very intricate parts of SC4, I seriously doubt anyone else in the community would be able to do much with Aurora. Although at it's core, it's effect based, which is NAM-level stuff, in fact way beyond, since the edits we would make to add puzzle/flex pieces are a breeze by comparison. The groups of S3D/FSH files are used as models to add effects to the sky. But the brightness issues are likely to remain because I'd bet money it's somewhere in the EffectDir files. In which case, we're talking about Hex editing in unknown territory.

Head over to my Lot and Mod Shack to keep abreast of my latest developments.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.

I actually use both MODs, but I never had the problem with this kind of a dark night. All I can say is, that I love the effects, not so much the snow, but I hate snow in RL a lot either. But I also gotta say, that I play in daylight most of the times, so I never had a big storm during the night.
I only modified the lot, that is plopped, the way so that it is more recognizable when the city grows. *:D nothing's worse than when you don't know anymore where you plopped it and you don't find it in between all the other green park tiles you plopped.

Kind regards!

Well, I did take the time today and actually played a little while with the day/night cycle turned on and the MOD. So, yes, it gets really dark, when a storm run through your city, but I think, it's pretty "realistic"! Building your city isn't possible in this case, but I do have my troubles doing that even in regular night setting, so I am fine with that.

Kind regards!
