here's my harbor city of Schwelm. Nestled on an elongated headland against the unpredictable waters of Hadmond's Bay. New Years Eve fell on a particulary snowy day this time. Countless fender benders, for sure.

BOTTOM OUTLET SPILLWAY IN ACTION!

 

Ahhh....a nice and sunny noon at Lake Diamond, the clear waters glisten brilliantly in the toasty sunlight!

 

But as it often happens, the skies above Lake Diamond become dark and ominous every afternoon...

 

The daily deluge begins!

 

So much water arriving! Thankfully the reservoir has its trusty bottom outlet spillway!! It feeds the waterfalls located downstream of the mighty reservoir!

 

It also protects the imposing dam to which the lake owes its existence.

 

At last, rain dissipates, but the discharge continues in a controlled manner to make room for the next deluge...
