Hello,

I want to ask a wierd but interesting questions: why Cities: Skylines have "Cities: " in the front of the name? In my knowledge, there are games with "Cities" in the front of the name, like Cities XL, Cities XXL and so on but none of them is made by Paradox or Collosal Order. CXXL for instance is made by Monte Cristo, unrelevant with Paradox and CO. Is C:S is a sequel of a game called "Cities"? If yes, I never heard the game before ("Cities", not C:S). If sequel, why do Paradox releases DLC for it instead of resuming the sequel?

Thanks.

Monte Cristo made City Life, then Cities XL, then   (after failed online Planet Offer) FHI released several (usually) standalone EPs, culminating in Cities XXL. Some people call MC/FHI’s city building games the City Life or CXL series. Never have I seen it as the City Life/XL series which makes sense too.

Colossal Order made the Cities in Motion series, switching to Cities: Skylines, which has a more city building/simulating focus (though the engine cannot build giant, highly populated cities accross the whole (10x10km) map without hitting its agent limit whereas that’s what Cities XL is designed for). Cities: Skylines runs on lower end computers than Cities XL can and does a better job simulating. There are some weird bugs and design decisions with emergency vehicles (such as responding to calls far outside the green area, in a whole different district but Skylines Overwatch (with better Hearse, Ambulance, and Fire Truck AI mods) fixes that.

But, I can't still play it because the system requirement is too high (integrated GPU can't play the game). Maybe, you refer in the early era (2015-2016), where C:S has no expansion packs and has some flaws.

Sorry if my word wrong. Thanks.

I can play all my games on a "all-in-one-desktop" that's just got one Celeron G440 processor and has Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD Integrated graphics (and yes I can run CIties: Skylines on it), but to do it I had to max out the amount of memory the motherboard was capable of supporting which isn't easy on a "all-in-one-desktop" as they weren't really designed to be upgraded

That mod hasn't been working properly for three years now, is completely broken nowadays and should not be recommended.

Which, by the way, does not mean the game has been left in the dust. You can do amazing things that you could only dream of in those days with C:S nowadays .

Thanks, @Turjan for teaching me about that! I just learned that there is a version of TM: PE with enhanced hearse AI. I admit I don’t really play that often because I’m often busy with school.

Hello everyone. This will be my custom content showcase and workshop thread. In all the years I been a member here, I never uploaded any content but enjoying great work by other members. I take this opportunity to say Thank You to all content makers for making our city building experience so enjoyable. I feel that making content is overdue for me and I want to give back to the community. I have some buildings and trees that I will be showing in upcoming updates to this thread. I will also be asking for advice and help.

        Hi all!
Like most of you folks, I have a huge back-catalog in a spreadsheet somewhere of assets I plan on making some day.
Well, here's my list.. This is just the stuff I want to make, It's alright if there is already a good asset on the workshop for it, it's just for my own pleasure.
This isn't going to replace the refinery project, I'll still keep updating that thread. I just wanted to have a place to keep my other assets organized and seek advice from everyone.
I'll have to clean up the list at some point, but for now it's just a data dump. I have some more things I would like to make, but I don't have a design picked out yet, so I left them off for now.
