Hello Simtropolitans! I'm Sebastian anmd I'm gonna be your narrator for the very unique Stepped cliffs city journal, or more specifically, map and city journal.

The map will be available (terrain ready to play) once I will have completed this City Journal.

Here, I wanted to create something unique with a very different story from what we're used to hear/listen to.

Spoiler

I wanna make something that is going to raise up your ears and eyes straight there... Because this is going to happen only  "ONCE", not twice.

So here I begin with the very first hours of mapping...

It all began by a simple image in my mind, two cliffs at the edges of the map's bounds, a middly steep valley between 'em. A simple image that took 2hours to make both cliffs... 30 mins after, I was trying to figure out how I could make this map playable, because I don't want a very lot of water in the map.

Plan :

  • Map theme : forestry
  • Map difficulty : medium/hard
  • City size planned : Small, more industrialised.
  • Water amount : One side, kind of "enough" to start.

Back to the real world where I live at, there is no such similiar thing  around me. All I can see outdoor is the city.

Hi Sebastian.  Welcome to the wonderful crazy world of CJing (although I don't know if this is your first effort).  I'll assume it is and pass along a great tip I received way back when, in 2006 I think, I started my first CJ Three Rivers Region.  First though I'll note that, IMHO, that you've started out right- with a concept and a plan to put it into action. Few CJs that last are just done on the fly.  So good luck!

The tip is that folks just aren't teased into being interested by text.  Most people don't want to read about what you are going to do or ar doing- they want to see it.  You don't need a bunch of screenies- one really good one will do.  If it catches the attention of the readers who've stopped to check out you post, they'll be watching for your next post.  It worked for me, and I've never looked back.

Again, good luck.  I'll keep an eye out, in any event.

David

Hey guys! Sorry for this late City Journal update. So recently I am putting a lot of efforts on the terrain to make it nice. I changed the CJ update rate ti every 2 or 3 days. Stay tuned! Pictures are gonna be part or the next CJ update.

EDIT : I added the map file, the map name's "NewMap". Sorry for this. :/
