Starting on a new Sears Auto Center which is larger. (Don't worry I'll keep the current one up)

Coming along nicely. Should I keep this as the roof texture?

Can you also do ethnic grocery stores like; 99 Ranch Market (Chinese), Vallarta Supermarket (Mexican), El Super (Mexican), Nijiya Market (Japanese), Mitsuwa (Japanese), etc? I know you're not familiar with those stores, but that would be a nice addition to SC4. Because those grocery stores are very common in southern California where I live.

@citybuilder234 I do believe JMyers did something along those lines in one of his small shops on the LEX, so I don't see any reason for me to pursue that. I'd be more like to do one or two small generic grocery stores similar to the Amy's Grocery store by the BLAM team.

I haven’t ever seen a SeaRs auto Cebter like this. Way is there a roof carport thing on this building?

Well, the ethnic grocery stores in where I live are big as big-box retail stores and they have a lot of square footage than a small size grocery store or supermarket.

@citybuilder234 I guess you could say it isn't something that I'm personally used to seeing in my area; so I don't know that much about it.

While I'm not saying that I will pursue this as a project, if you could send me a couple of reference pictures to help me decide that would be helpful. A google maps link to a place would be helpful too.

@Evanjs I've based this design off a real life, although now closed, Sears auto center in Lakewood, NY. The carport area you see is actually from the days when Sears auto centers had gas pumps.

That's a very neat one, you're improving your skills ^^ About the roof texture, I would suggest you to search for something a little darker, a little more dirty and with more contrast. Here, a pattern is slightly visible. IRL, roofing is seldom maintained with any care.

    Enjoy!

@Krasner Thanks. I was leaning toward something else, but I figured I'd see what others thought.

@citybuilder234 Ok. Sounds like a plan.

Perhaps at a later date. I've already got some projects lined up for now plus the one you PM'd me about.

@DavidDHetzel Ok sounds good. When I get back into a strip mall mode, feel free to PM me the ideas. I'd gladly fill a storefront with at one least of them.

As for my new project, its another chain that is currently closing down:

    Very early stage of development.

Nice work. You ever considered making defunct fast food chains, like ones from the 1950s or 1960s?

@BossDragon Thanks! I don't plan to do any restaurants, unless they are a part of a strip mall.

While there aren't any Bon Ton stores in my area, We do have Carsons and Elder-Beerman. I can guarantee that at least one mall just outside the Detroit metro area will close all together because of this because Elder-Beerman is the only real anchor store left in it.

@ericexp Bon Ton was essentially a family of brands which included the brands below. Bon-Ton owned all of them.

Yeah, with Bon-Ton closing all these stores, I no doubt see issues coming with many malls.
