Does anyone run the game on Windows 10?  New player here went a little over zealous and started the Omega Factory soon.  Had to import oil and ore and now I'm out of funds.  I thought I downloaded the cheat DLL plug in.  But whenever I open the box on the game none of the commands work Moolah, Weaknesspays none of them work.  I type help and it gives me a list of basic commands that aren't really cheat codes or anything.  Can anyone help me out here.  I deleted the DLL Plug In from this website but it seems everyone uses Vista does that mean this Plug In will not work on Windows 10.  If anyone can help please note I'm a novice at computers so if you can dumb down your explanation would help too lol.

Such things do not exist within SimCity 4.

Do you mean the file Buggi's Extra Cheats, because that mod is for SimCity 4 and not the 2013 game SimCity, AKA SimCity 5. Which would explain why it isn't working.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

As @rsc204 said these are not a part of SC4. My guess is you have either SimCity 2013 or Cities: Skylines. Let us know which one and we can move this thread to the appropriate forum. That way the peeps who know the answer you are seeking will see it.

Hi CorinaMarie, I bought the deluxe edition that came with some expansion packs.  I know the Cities of Tomorrow was one of the expansion packs I'm not sure what else was part of but basically it included SC4 and all expansion packs according to Origin which is where I made my purchase.  I appreciate any help all can give me.

    Hey RSC204,

Thanks for answering I purchased from Origin SC4 deluxe edition with all the expansion packs it was a package deal so I don't know all the expansion packs that were included but it was def SC4 deluxe plus cities of tomorrow.

The thing is, that information contradicts itself. Cities of Tomorrow was the expansion pack for SimCity (This is why you should increment version numbers, EA are you listening!!). SimCity, released in 2013 is a 3D-Based game (you can rotate the camera freely around 360°). It's the latest release in the SimCity series. They did release a "deluxe" edition, which contains the game and all it's expansion packs. SimCity looks like this:

    2i8bol4.jpg

SimCity 4, that's the 4th game in the original 2.5D series (Isometric, i.e. you can't rotate views freely, only around 4 fixed points). It was released in 2001, with the Rush Hour expansion released in 2003. SC4 Deluxe contains both SC4 and the Rush Hour expansion in one package. SC4 looks like this:

    Maldon-2Sep2671391138624_zps85a66249.jpg

Note: highly modded game used for this shot

As I write that, the absurdity of the naming conventions used by EA becomes ever clearer. It's no surprise that anyone might be confused, I think that's in some part quite deliberate.

It could be that EA/Origin bundled the two games, SimCity and the earlier SC4 together in one package. But, they are still totally separate games and worlds apart. Many people dislike SimCity (2013), because it's not well suited to user mods, had a disastrous launch and well, it's just not the SC4 experience that players have come to cherish over a period of 14 years.

Anyhow, if you tell us which of these two screenshots most resembles the game you are playing, then we'll all be on the same page. Hopefully it's clear that they have very contrasting styles from the images. :)

Well RSC204 this is embarrassing.  I'm positing and I don't even know what game I own lol.  I wish I had the original on Super Nintendo or whatever gaming system I had back in the day it was a lot easier then.  Here is what happened I played a free 4 hour trial from Origin/EA sports.  Once I played I was hooked then i went to go purchase SC4.  Now instead of purchasing  the game itself I purchased a subscription to Origin monthly.  On Origin monthly though it is NOT Sim City 4 like I have been posting about it must be Sim City 3 or 2013 or whatever I have because I see I have Sim City the Complete Edition not deluxe edition.  I appreciate your time and help and thank you for clearing this up to me I guess if you can point me in the right direction to find the info I need would be great.  Or is this game so bad I'm better off purchasing the SC4 Deluxe Edition???  Thanks again sorry newbie hear didn't mean to misinform anyone.

I have not personally played SimCity (the new one), in the beginning there were some nasty bugs/problems that kept me away. I'd happily buy the game, if EA would remove the need to install Origin to play it. The price is great today and I think it's probably a lot of fun as a game in its own right.

That said, the experience of such games always hits a point (although it can take a while), where I feel I've done all there is to do and move on. SC4 is different, there is just so much custom content, that is still evolving even today, that the game re-invents itself over and over. I'm hugely active making mods for it myself.

Call it a hunch, but I think, you'll probably enjoy SimCity (the new one) more. SC4 is great, but to really get the most out of it is a lot of work sometimes. Downloading mods, installing them, getting them to all play nicely together. It takes a bit of knowledge in the area of file/folder management, but that's because it's of it's time. The new game is clearly prettier too, plus it allows you more flexibility to place curvy roads and the like. SC4 on the other hand, is grid-based, whilst mods have done wonders to fight that, from the average player's perspective, you might find it a bit more complex in practise to use. If you want to see what I'm talking about, click the link in my Sig and watch one of my NAM tutorial videos. There i show how to use the new features of SC4, it will give you an idea what it entails.

Far be it for me to put anyone off SC4, I love the game. One other tip, I wouldn't buy it from Origin personally. Although perhaps your monthly deal includes it in the price? But if you do have to buy it, remember it's 14 years old. Origin charging $20 for a 14 year old game is just a rip off. Good Old Games, they remove all the DRM (so the game will work forever), not to mention I got my copy for just 2,50€ in a sale a few years ago. Of course, you have to wait for the sales to take advantage. But they come up all the time, Steam, Gamersgate and Amazon also sell the game cheap at least once a year.

Where does that leave us in respect of your original question?... I think my initial answer, that you've download a mod for SC4, those will not work with the new SimCity game. But I'll move this topic into the relevant thread, someone should be able to help you find a solution. But it looks to me like this information is accurate. In short, press ALT + W whilst playing in Sandbox mode, to give your city $100,000 more cash.
