Hi all

anyone know what i need to edit in iLives reader to stop this ploppable building from trying to grow. Not only is it growing when i want it to be a ploppable building, it is trying to grow on the wrong sized zone. I've identified it is the sunshine 60 building.

ive set the "growth stage" to 0xFF ; and "Lotconfigpropertyzonetypes" to Plopped building; but its still growing,  not sure what else i need to change.

cheers

If the lot under construction in the first image is supposed to illustrate the problem you are having, I don't think it's the Sunshine 60 lot.  After looking at the download for Sunshine 60 (part of Mozukuss Lots by Rayden from over at SC4D), the Sunshine 60 building is the existing big white building to the right of the lot under construction.  It's most likely that when you are hovering your query tool over the problem lot, because of its proximity and size it is actually picking up the Sunshine 60 building instead.  This is a common problem when trying to query a lot/building that is surrounded by larger buildings.  You might try rotating your view to try to get the focus of the query tool to be the problem lot.  Don't forget that the focus of the query tool will change to a shade of blue.  If the lot in question isn't changing shade when you think the query tool isn't hovering over it, the focus isn't on that lot.

Although there won't be any major problems if you don't do so (the lot just won't grow anymore), don't forget to go back and change those properties for the Sunshine 60 lot.

FWIW, you did find the two properties in the Lot exemplar that govern whether or not a building will grow.

    Thanks twalsh

unfortunately its just coincidence in the picture above that sunshine 60 is next to it. I've got instances of the building growing (well trying to) on 2x4 lots like above with nothing around it. when i query it, it tells me it is sunshine 60. Are there any other properties that i need to edit to stop the building from growing?

No, those are the only two.

    Please consider the following:

    1.  A lot will not "try" to grow in any size space other than the values shown in the LotConfigPropertySize property for that lot.  The Lot exemplar for the Sunshine 60 lot from the Mozukuss package is a 6x4 lot.

    2.  The Sunshine 60 Lot looks nothing like the lot next to it, which is the one you are having problems with.  It's clear to me that these are two different lots.

    3.  The only tie between a lot and the building that appears on the lot, is that the lot exemplar references a building exemplar by the building exemplar's IID.

    4.  Anybody can create a lot of any size and point the building exemplar reference to any existing building exemplar.  There is an exemplar for a growable building named Sunshine 60 in Mozukuss MEGA Model Pack Vol01.  Most likely someone tried to create a new lot utilizing that building exemplar, and flubbed it.

    5.  The building name you see in-game can come from one of three possible locations in the Building exemplar:  the Exemplar Name property (usually this is the only place in the Building exemplar of a growable lot), the Item Name property (this will supersede the Exemplar Name property if both exist), or the User Visible Name Key property (which points to an LTEXT file, and will supersede either or both of the other two properties).   What this implies is that there may be a building exemplar some place in your Plugins folder, with an exemplar name nothing close to Sunshine 60, that ends up showing Sunshine 60 as its name in-game.

    6.  The fact that you changed those properties in the lot you thought was causing the problem, and the problem lot still grew tells me you were not editing the correct lot.

The only way I can think of to verify this is to experiment and take the lot you think is the cause of the problem (the one that is part of the package mentioned in my first post) out of your Plugins folder (after saving your game obviously).  If it continues to try to grow, there is some other lot with a building named Sunshine 60.

In the worst of all scenarios, you will have to do a binary search of your Plugins folder to determine which lot is causing this problem
