Hi guys! I'm new at all this and I need your support.

I'm sorry for my english but I'll start:

I want to model my own buildings for simcity 4, and I read last week I need to download Lot Editor, B.A.T and Gmax. I was talking with Adrianor and he told me if I just want to create a Lot I just need Lot editor. Well, I downloaded it from sim devotion but it didn't work when I played it!

Each time I try to play it, it appears next text: Lot editor stopped working. ( I left an image below, It's in spanish)

A time ago I read, if I want to download and running B.A.T and Lot Editor on my computer I first require to uninstall Sim city 4 game for I install BAT, Lot Editor and Gmax later.

What do you think so? Should I first uninstall Simcity 4 and after I install B.A.T, Lot Editor and Gmax? Is it extremely necessary for doing?

I really need support with it.

Thanks and I'm really ashamed for my english I hope all you understood me.

I'm using Windows 8 and Lot Editor.   The start menu icon in your picture indicates that you are using either Vista, 7, or 8.  You may need to run the lot editor in compatibility mode for Windows XP Service Pack 3.  Right click on either the exe file or the shortcut and see if it works by setting the compatibility mode.

Maybe you have too many plugins for Lot Editor to handle. Lot Editor loads all of the building models, props, textures, and lots in your "Plugins" folder when it starts up, which can cause it to crash or stop responding if there are a too many. A good rule of thumb is to have ONLY the plugins that you want to use for your new lots inside of your "Plugins" folder when you use the LE. Try renaming your SimCity 4 "Plugins" folder (with all of your plugins inside of it) to something else for the time being (for example, "All Plugins" – LE will not recognize it and thus will not load it) and make a new empty "Plugins" folder. Then start the Lot Editor again and hopefully it will work. If it does, close LE; copy the plugins that you want to use for your new lots into the new Plugins folder; and open LE again. Just don't forget to switch your original Plugins folder back when you are done and you are ready to play SimCity again!

*note: this process also makes it easier to track which dependencies you are using!

There may be a limit, but that's more to do with what your system can handle. I've successfully booted the LE with over 10GB plugins loaded, it just takes a really long time to start.

Perhaps, LE is having problems with your graphics hardware, in which case adding -d:soft to the target line of the shortcut should help. To find that, simply right click the LE shortcut and select properties

Head over to my Lot and Mod Shack to keep abreast of my latest developments.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.

I'm very pleased for your support. Thanks for all your comments. I could sort out that error and Lot editor is working well now! but I have other problem.

I want to become a modder and I want to learn abour batting. Well, I downloaded the BATSC4 from simcapital but it appears a message when I tried to run it: (Look at image below)

I bought my sim city 4 deluxe from origin website and I paid for it on line.

What should I do for I get my BAT program? and What other programs do I need for batting?

I've just got Lot editor and the BAT.exe. Do I need other one?

I'm sorry to tell you, but there is no way to install SC4BAT using an Origin copy of SC4. The only workaround is to install a disk-based version (or any other digital version) to pass this validation check. See this post for full details:

Thank for responding to me! I'll check out on eBay for I get a second hand CD although I'll need to save a bit of money because dollar is expensive right now. Thanks Trump!! hahahaha

Anyway! I just wanted to ask one last question:

After I get my "genuine" version of SC4 Deluxe on CD, Is there a specif way for installing all programs I need to make buildings?(I guess, all programs I need are: Gmax, Lot editor and BAT, that's it, right?) for example:

first this program, next this other one and after the last one or Is it enough having the desk- based version that you said for installing all programs no matter the sequence how you install them?

It's more complex than that. The CD version likely won't work properly for playing the game:

So you need to uninstall your digital version, install the CD version. At this point you can install SC4BAT, but gMax must be installed prior to that. Once SC4BAT's installation is complete, you need to uninstall the CD version and install the digital one again.

It's for this reason I would recommend trying to find a copy of SC4 in a sale digitally. That way it'll simply work without messing about. The CD-solution is more useful for those who had used the disks, but later upgraded to a digital edition from Origin. Because it doesn't cost you more money if you still have the disks. But if you don't, unless the disks are cheaper than one of the other digital editions, I'd avoid them.

The Plugin Manager and Lot Editor are two tools required to utilise your custom building on lots. Although I would personally recommend using a 3rd party application called SC4-PIM which combines the functions of both.
