Residential/Commercial/Industry Type Restriction

Hello everyone.

I've been looking for a mod that allows you to restrict the wealth and types of buildings in the areas you zone in the game. For example: a high-density industry zone in which only High-Tech companies are allowed to build, or a commercial zone that only allows offices to be built in it. Could any of you direct me to a mod like this?

Thank you!

The above mod and its expansions should handle your industrial needs.

For commercial, you can encourage offices with plazas, and it is possible to force the game to pick the growables you want by carefully selecting which growable lots are present in your game folder. There isn't any mod to control wealth by zone density for commercial, as far as I know. But there are hundreds of commercial office ploppable lots to build with.

People also mod growable lots to certain tilesets to further control their appearance... most lots are set for all tilesets out-of-the-box, but you can use the tilesets as a 'filing system' of sorts.

Generally, residential is the harder to control, but a way to do so is to know (or to fix) in which tileset your prefered lots are, and which is their size. That way, you can disable other tilesets, zone specifically for the lot size (particularly if it is a rather strange size, like 8x1, 2x6, etc), and make your lots historic one they have grown on the right places. Anyway, good luck if you have a sizable plugins folder, because it can take you ages to archieve an specific lot distribution, or if they are badly modded, you can well be unable to grow certain lots.

Realize that it frustrates the basic principle of development for which the game was created because it is determinant that it can also create higher density areas with low wealth.

So for this it would be much simpler just plopar the buildings desired in the areas chosen through fraud for example.

However there is one problem with this since propables  are not considered in the RCI development calculations and tend to be more problematic for the performance  of simulator  when used arbitrarily and many are included in the terrain cells used for the calculations.

In short this is basically a difference between playing for the look you  want  see or then play to enjoy the inherent gradual development  which is the basic reason for which the game was created.

Even if there is an equivalent in RL: social housing does not simply grow on places because poor people built it: it is centrally decided to build in a coherent fashion, no matter if the demand is high in the sorrounding areas, or if there are enough available jobs.
