Thank you very much! I am ashamed!

    smirkazor:
Thank you for posting! I am glad that you like the Riverside Expressway.

This time I will show you the oldest part of Auxerre. The city was founded many centuries ago on this island:

Barnatom thanks, I am very honoured, glad I could help you with this fantastic CJ.

I keep looking at the way you have made your riverfront, and it is something I will surely use. You must have a lot of puzzelpieces to be able to make it this way.
Anyway just like the harbour you made earlier this is one of the more realistic and most beautiful riverfronts I have seen.

    Gridlock:
Thank you. And yes, nearly all the stuff is available on the STEX.

    bat:
    Thank you for posting again!

    Kwakelaar:
I am glad that you like the riverside as well.

And thank you again for making the lots. It was a great idea to make some with trees in the center, I will use these for sure.
And you did very well to build the ones which have one tree on one side all the same way, with the tree on the edge opposide to the arrow that appears then placing the lot. This makes plopping easy.

I don't know if you are getting bored of this work. But I thought it would be great to expand the set in order to complete it.
    This is what is missing:
    1. A corner lot with two trees on adjacent edges and perhaps a bench between them. Needed to get the 'one-tree-lots' around corners.
    2. A two or three tile lot with trees in the center of the lots and other things like the kiosk, phone booth...
    3. Lots without trees but with other things of the porkissimo set, like the book store, the kiosk, the column, the phone booth, ...

Perhaps you would like to make these as well. Sorry for asking again.

I think that with these additions the set will be completed and you could think about releasing it on the STEX.

Here is another thing: I am trying to make a map of Auxerre.

    MapScreen.jpg

What do you think? Is it worth the effort? Are the colours right? Do you like it?

Very nice waterfronts! I'm working on a historic downtown area and just cannot choose between british and french style, but this CJ of yours sure puts me towards french!! *grin*. Very nice work!

Impressive 21.gif My Oxford dictionary defines this word as impressing the mind or senses, esp.so as to cause approval or admiration, and yes, I really admire your work 19.gif Grandeur would be an appropriate word to describe this city.

    Hello, barnatom.

You are a very prolific updater to your CJ!  My apologies for not responding on every update.  Real Life keeps intruding on my fun time.  2.gif

I am not sure where to start on commenting on your various updates so I will simply post a general reply.

    WOW!!

I think that pretty much sums up my reply.  You really have a wonderful creator's touch on your region.  I really like the island you've created.  It is so very nice, tranquil and peaceful looking.  I can definitely see myself spending quality quiet time strolling along its banks and park areas.  Great job!

I must say that your W2W town areas are looking quite good.  I am impressed with the way you group/cluster your buildings.  Very nicely done.  As an American, this city-style is foreign to me but I can still enjoy the way it looks and the wonderful old-world feel it gives your region.

Thanks again for your great CJ and your wonderful updates.  They certainly are a pleasure to read and view.

    Regards,

    Vandy

Thanks a lot! Well, about the historic city centre: I think the french buildings we have on the STEX give you the feel of a real Metropolis. The british buildings are better for smaller cities. But that is just my opinion.
BTW: I saw the harbour you have in your Holland Lake CJ, and I like it very much. I will leave a comment there next time...

    Bongoswimp:
Thank you! I am glad that you still like this CJ.
The bridge is a normal road bridge. Just draw a bridge and you will get the option to build it. Perhaps it only appaers for certain sizes, I don't know.

    Cjah:
Thank you very much for another very nice comment! I am happy that you see both, the busy Metropolis and the calm and pittoresque places.

    bat:
    Thank you again!

Wow! Thank you very much for this nice compliment! I saw your work, too. And I like it very much. So your post counts double.

Wow! The Fire Breather has posted! Thank you very much! I am glad that you like my CJ. I saw some of your work and was very impressed by your skill with the LotEditor.

    simster6:
Well, I don't know how the cities in Canada look like. But I got my inspiration from Paris, and perhaps the cities you mentioned look like french cities.

    Porkissimo:
Oh no, no, no! It is me who has to say thank you. Without your outstanding work this city would never have come to existance. You are the one who did all the great work. So I give you a big:

    Thank you!

It is a great honour for me that you have posted here.

    Vandy:
No, don't worry! I am happy that you had the time to visit Cadott Bay again. And thank you very much for your new compliment. And I hope that you like the 'Old world' style. It is just how cities here in Europe are built.

Alright i've just got to post now....  This.... this recreation of a parisan town center is really outstanding!  All of the different angled walls and paths are perfect because thats how they really are.  Things can't always be straight with 90 degree corners.  The docks seem to fit perfectly into the city as well.  I'm blown away and I know other visitors are too!  Superb.

I'm in awe by that last update. You make such simple areas seem so real and the riverfront is not even near out of place. In fact if it wasn't there the whole city would feel out of place...

Its the way you combine such elements to build such an excellent city.I can't wait for the next update cause you are really kicking ass!

    Hello, barnatom.

    Another wonderful update!

    26.1 through 26.3
I really have enjoyed the tour of this beautiful park.  It is constructed very nicely and the air of peacefulness and tranquility it exudes is almost physically tangible.  I could spend hours walking through it and enjoying its restful atmosphere.

    26.4
What a beautiful cathedral.  I'm not sure I've seen this one on the STEX.  Would you mind providing a name or a link to it?  Thank you.

    26.5 through 26.7
Your attention to detail is quite obvious in your tour of this city.  Very well planned and executed.

    26.8
I do like this waterfront plaza.  It has a very intimate feel about it and certainly would be a great place to sit and do what I refer to as water watch -- that is, just gaze at the water and traffic on it reflecting on one's own life and meaning.  But, I grow a bit too philosphical.

    26.9 and 26.10
I like your avenues and the way they lead out to your bridge.  Whose stairways are you using in these and previous pictures?  Very nice use of the round-a-bout in Picture 26.10.

    26.11
I do like this picture.  Such a nice view of this W2W environment.  The covered bridge is very nice.  Where can that be found?  Is it a default SC4 lot?

    26.13
What a beautiful picture!  So peaceful yet so full of energy!  Excellent view!  Where can I find the overlook with the stairs underneath it?  I like that very much.  Is that one of NOB's harbour BATs?

Again, your W2W city has developed very nicely.  Great update!

    Regards,

    Vandy

I'll see what I can do about making a few more lots. Have you tested them at night?

I quite like the map you have started on, I think it will look very good when finished.
Futhermore wonderful updates with lots of details.
