I finally made thing long awaited mod, and it only has 180 lines of code!

This would have solved so many problems in my cities, where outside trains jammed my whole train network.

Press ALT while placing or relocating a passenger train station to make it only accept local traffic (no trains from other cities). Note that you have to re-place a station to switch between "local" and "local & outside".

Great work as always on this. Would make for a better and possibly more expansive rail network. Finally no needing to have separate lanes for areas that already run adjacent to an outside connection. Just would have to manage the budget so the lines don't get over saturated but hey, that's what passing loops are for. First city I ever started when I first got the game had such a rail traffic issue because at the time I didn't think local and regional services would get in the way of each other... until the game started spawning tons and tons of regional trains and they just gridlocked the entire system. The amount of retrofitting and separating traffic that was required. Started to get annoying seeing regional trains stop at little rural stations designed for commuters. XD

 

 

Also, nice little quaint city. Care to show that off at some point. You have a bit of a traffic issue on your three lane road near the downtown. Interesting place for your central station too if I might say

That's a part of the challenge

There are no highways in that city.

The mod should also heavily reduce the amount of outside trains.
