Is there a limit on how many tree assets you can use?

I have a slight issue at the moment. In my current city, there's a park around a building that uses Shroomblaze's Jacarandas (the five trees in the front and the rows left and right of the building):

Well, that's obviously something else. I noticed the issue when I thought the trees were gone, but on zooming in they were Shroomblaze's Cordylines. I then unchecked the Cordylines in the Assets menu, and on a reload they became Breeze's Winter Trees. I unchecked those, and the result is this.

Is there some known limit on tree assets, or do I have any other issue?

I can still plop new Jacaranda trees just fine btw,, and they show up as such.

    64 tree asset Max

Hmm, I have 93 tree assets if I counted correctly. Although I assume that I have not even half of those in use on the map.

Most assets I have in that menu are just there because some downloaded building or park used them. This way, it's easy to break that ceiling.

No, I'm not, as I'm not sure whether there was some misunderstanding with my use of the word "park". However, it's clear that I had trees change to different trees, and not only the Jacarandas. It's also clear that they really changed and didn't just look different, because when I unsubscribed from their new incarnation, the trees were gone for good.

I brought my tree assets to about 60 now and replanted the Jacarandas, so I will see whether they will stay.

One thing that has changed is that the number of trees in that city is now above the vanilla limit, so the trees depend on the "Unlimited Trees" mod and the way that mod stores tree data. I noticed that tree sizes change on each reload, and I'm not sure that was the case before.

Edit: Not each reload, maybe it's each save. I have to check a few things, but probably tomorrow.

Some kind of "asset id" is stored for every tree. When you reload the map, these ids sometimes change when you download new trees.

The game handles that, but maybe the mod does not.

This may very well be. Now that I think of it, I had added some bush that some modder removed from the workshop from my backups the last time I saw a size change, because it was used in many park assets. Of course, before that, I had removed many tree assets.

It probably doesn't help that Breeze changed a lot of ID's (I think that's how its' done?) to move her assets closer to the front of the tree menu.

I've got 101 tree assets subscribed with no issue.  1333 total assets on my machine.  I think asset count and types and limits are derived from your RAM, how large each asset is (the bigger the file the less assets you can use in total), and other computer specs.

    Thanks for the feedback.

I have deleted enough trees, particularly where I want to build the CBD, that I was able to disable the mod for the time being. I'll probably come back to this when the city is mostly finished and I can touch up the surroundings a bit.
