Chicago School and Hospital

Does anybody know how to make the Chicago Private School and Hospital work right? I only get a footprint.

Also, St. Elizabeths and St George Hospitals have brown boxes, I don't know why.

What do I do with the El on Avenue pieces? Am I missing something? I want them to network over intersections and turn corners, etc. much like the el in Chicago, like Wabash and Lake street, etc.

On my Klatskanee city, the traffic query button (below the pointer) indicates that First Ave (the biggest street in front by the park) and the freeway and the industrial park bypass viaduct have zero car traffic. Is this something for real, or should I not worry about it? I can't imagine nobody ever uses those streets.

Thanks.

I guess you forgot to read the requirements for this technical section.  In order to give you any answers we need much more information:

  • The URL for your private school and hospital
  • Ditto on the lots where you are getting brown boxes
  • Did you read the NAM manual entries on the pieces you are using?
  • For your city query, how about a screen shot?
  • We also need the configuration of your machine, the operating system you are running, and the version of the game you have.

This is a large international forum.  We cannot see your screen nor your system, so full descriptions of problems is needed.

Did you read the

NAM

manual entries on the pieces you are using?

You know I'm pretty sure the documentation only covers as far as the El over Road and Street pieces, not to worry, Gangaram made a helpful video showing how to use the AVE and RD4 variants.

Head over to my Lot and Mod Shack to keep abreast of my latest developments.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.

First Avenue is the avenue that seperates the lakefront park from the city, running left to right.

Howard Street is the viaduct that runs up and down in the top left, left of the steel mill, left of the river.

The 743 goes from south to west through downtown. It is the elevated freeway you see turning through downtown here.

I'm playing Sim City 4: Deluxe Edition using Microsoft XP on an HP computer.

THANK YOU RSC204 for the video. I appreciate it.

Well, I downloaded the three lots cited.  The first two are only lots, and may have been created with the Lot Editor.  The third one is a regular BAT creation with the usual files.  If you are getting brown boxes, it is possible you are missing the default dependency files from Maxis, namely,

BldgProp_Vol1 and BldgProp_Vol2.  These can be found at SC4Devotion in the Lot Editor Download page.  In the left hand frame scroll down to the EA Support button, click it, accept the agreement and follow the links to the Lot Editor.  The second and third links on that page will give you the files if you don't have them.
