The eyedropper and control building level-up are my main tools for curating my city. I'll try to get the Keymark Hotel to grow in place of the old unique building version. Though I think I have that area zoned for tourism, so that poses a problem.

I wish there was a way to get normal commercial to coexist with tourism/leisure.

Yeah, being able to mix normal and specialized commercial features high on my wishlist as well (until there's some sort of solution I don't even use Tourism or Leisure), preferably by being able to assign specialized commerce to stretches of road (rather than on a district level) in a similar fashion as some mods allow you to set speed limits to stretches of road (so you can set up tourism strips with hotels and nightclubs, or designated pub streets).

@Cool_Z - I was mainly thinking about assets larger than 4x4, my bad - I fully agree with you when dealing with growables.

You can do that with Building Themes. Just uncheck the building in theme manager.

Love it and wonderful with a level 4 :D There seems to be many more tall level 5 buildings and not so many for the lower levels. :)

Spot on! Though the original looks like it's taller. I had the same issue when making my first SC3K building. I don't know how you make yours, but that's why I switched to using the isometric projections when making these in 3D, so the proportions would be mostly exact.

You're right. It looks a bit taller in SC3, but the floors size actually make less sense if you respect these proportions (I think).

I was hesitating between squashing it a tiny little bit, leave it "stretched" like I feel it is in SC3 and adding one more floor heree and there. I amde it a bit shorter then (And I think I'll use the "adding floors" option to create a much taller level 5 from that.)

I always work in isometric actually. (Pic from last december)

I'm digging up old WIP stuff (months old), even stuff you haven't seen yet :kitty:

Oh, all the things I've wanted to do but haven't bothered.

I put all my C:S projects in folders in one big folder for all them, and ones I either never started, didn't do much on, or haven't finished yet include: Blips and Chitz (a version of it that can be built in C:S, it's a big space arcade from the show Rick and Morty),  the Harold Washington Library Center in Chicago (fits perfectly on a 16x8 lot), the Smurfit-Stone building in Chicago (the one that has the diamond roof), The Glass Tower from the Towering Inferno, The White House, and of course Willis Tower, not to mention a bunch of additional homes for my Eclectic home series, and any number of SimCity 3000 Unlimited buildings.

Dude, thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU!!!
Not very remarkable or flashy, but after a year it's still one of my favorite office buildings in the Workshop!

The Westly Building is another of the few buildings I couldn't ditch after AD came out. Thanks for updating it.

Did you have to do anything else to it, other than lights?

I had to remap the windows or the lights would have been very uniform at night, and I made a new LOD because the one it had (Auto lod, but not too bad) was still a bit weak.

Except that it was a solid and nicely built asset from the start.

Nice! Another one of those very early buildings that I just couldn't bear to part with. Thanks

Oh that looks slick. I like! Will that be a growable or a unique? It's totally ok if it's a unique. I like nice uniques, especially if they're light on the file size.

It will be a unique, it is not hugely tall but the footprint is big.

And it will be quite light. I've just finished the main model, I'll make a first import to see what it looks like ingame. The model is 1776 (edit : 1796 now) tris but the game always adds a few (for the foundations).

The main model is textured on 2048*1024 maps.

That's great to hear. I looks fantastic, and it's always nice to see some large footprint uniques. Tall buildings are cool, but buildings that have a similar square footage but are shorter on more land are great and would really serve to break up the landscape. There aren't enough of those, so if you're looking for ideas, that might an avenue for you to go down, pun intended.

The building is very similar in one way to a building I imagined. I like it.
