Looks like someone already got the tiles unlocked and is sharing the map on the workshop.  I just finished watching this guy checking it out,

Massive!

I bet as long as you don't go crazy with one giant metropolis, you could probably keep the performance stable.

Very nice. The 25 tile size is more than enough. Let's hope it works not too badly when built slightly up.

I unfortunately already know I will never have the time to build a city at that scale.

The game's not even publicly released yet and people are already showing very promising signs as far as modding goes. I'm having less and less concerns about this game the more I see about it.

Sweet, now they just need to figure out a way to unlock the border of the map for 9x9 tiles or 81 tiles.

The 5x5 area that has city tiles that can be bought or unlocked is hardcoded. It is impossible to have more than 25 tiles. The area around that is minimally simulated and mostly there to make sure your camera doesn't see the edge of the map. The 1 million population limit is also hard coded in the game. Having 81 tiles and 10 million population is impossible to run on any consumer grade computer from this decade.

EDIT: I just realized that you are rather new to here (only been here for slightly over a year). If you compare this to SC2013, their largest regions had 16 cities and 4 Great Works and their entire region was 10x10km. That makes the full map of Cities: Skylines with the 25 tile unlock mod bigger than the biggest region in SC2013.

But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

According to the guy who unlocked all 25 tiles, he said he hasn't had any problem with the normal performance of his city after unlocking all tiles  :D

Well, I don't had sufficient time to make the city grow, I think the problem begins when you put things in 15th or 16th tile, and the game have more things to simulate.

But, if you use for make districts far from each other, I think you will have no problem to simulate

I wouldn't expect any at that stage. He had 25 mostly empty tiles. Total population was at roughly 75,000, if I remember correctly.

But, the chirper interface is missing in the ICities file (that allows to mod it)... So I think the chirper removal mod will not be published before game release...

EDIT: BTW, someone knows where can I report bugs in the game? I've found some of them...

To report bugs you would have to go to the Support & Bug Reports forum in the Cities Skylines forums on Paradox's forums. It maybe that some of the bugs discovered are because you are using the whole 25 tiles, rather than the 9 suggested by Colossal Order, They have said they only support the use of using 9 tiles & that if you use more that is up to the individual.

Looking at the lets play on youtube, it seems that when you choose a map, you can't choose the starting city tile you can start with. If that is so, then a mod that would allow you to choose which part of the 25 tiles you could start would be nice. Maybe not all of the available tiles but those tiles with outside connections should be fine. Hi Klyte45.  :ohyes:

I thought the same thing... but I guess with the 25 tiles mod will be OK to me.

The starting tile is determined by the map creator. The creator of the map can designate any of the 25 tiles as the starting tile as long as it meets the needed criteria.

Yup but I'm a bit worried because CO said they can only support 9 tiles and unlocking 25 is our own risk, it might cause some problems, and my PC rig may not be able to handle the simulation required of a 25 tile mod.  :lost:  Man I need to upgrade this junk, cause I'm very much tempted with that mod.

Not in this case, I was playing in the normal mode game (w/o mods).

    Look:

    r4zF6Xu.jpg

So, the subway tunnel is bridging over the canyon, but it's vanish when isn't seeing the transport view...

It's only a view glitch, because the connection works.

Thanks for sharing this, I've reported your bug on the Paradox forum:

    http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?841560-Invisible-metro-glitch&p=18996832#post18996832

Currently, there's no road tunnel in the game. So I actually believe that metro tunnels are simply not meant to be viewed as well. They are only meant to appear in a "statistical" transport view.

Many people asked for real tunnels to appear in the game last november when it was announced they wouldn't be in the release version. Colossal Order heard us and told that it will be their first priority to implement them as a DLC. Let's hope that it will solve that issue as well, cause as it is currently, it seems that metros are simply not meant to appear visually.

I do hope Colossal Order will respect its words here. As a player of CIM2, I know they have everything needed to make of tunnels a really powerful tool. I'm hoping that with tunnels will also come connectors between overground rail and metro as well.

    1. go to cities skylines workshop,
    2. find the mod you want. i.e. All Areas
    3. click on subscribe.
    4. In Game, In the Main Menu, go to Content Manager. Under mods, turn on the All Areas mod and then presto.

    Then you are done
