Dr. Neitchskrimfrauwnmoya, i know this is my first post and i haven't anything to offer atm, but i think the building that appears to handle the garbage on ur screenshot on page 13 is cool! If only we could tip our rubbish off the end of the map! No more juggling landfill plots!

Hey guys.

Just though i'd upload a new network i made up.

It's not as complex as most of the ones here, but that's why i like it!

It costs about £500 a month to run, and a further £500 pm for the grassy areas!

Here's the full thing:

And a close-up of the centre section:

Hope you like it!

KickBack.

So NAM bridges do work. But it looks kinda dumb bending down and having a billion pillars.

once you know where you want the NAM bridge to go, you can use the "quick level tool" to make a thin strip of perfectly level land.

also, I made a pedestiran bridge that crossed a bay and it actually went underwater the sims still used it but it looked kinda crazy.

rymac91: how did you create those on/off ramps on either side of the tunnel for the sunken highway? is there a piece somewhere on the stex or in the nam? 4.gif

This is my first post here in a REALLY long time. I hope everyone enjoys what I have created.

customuselessaj6.jpgThis one started out as an experiment to see if sims would drive on a reverse roundabout. It turns out most of them would rather travel to the other side of the map and back to get where they wanted to go. Oh well. I came up with this realising that this exchange already exists in the NAM. Oh well I tried.

Paralell highway "collector lane" full cloverleaf.

A roundabout cloverleaf highway interchange now with leapfrog action.

3/4 cloverleaf with roundabouts. Connecting collector lanes to an avenue.

Heres a couple of Pics from the transportation network of my new city, Los Cielos (CJ coming soon???)

https://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l8/dahawk_2006/LosCielosD.png

This is US 18 running East-West through downtown Los Cielos. This particular section

is called Redwood Expressway due to the number of Redwood trees planted by the city

that line the freeway.

https://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l8/dahawk_2006/LosCielosC.png

This is a section of sunken highway US 34 that runs North-South through downtaon Los

Cielos. In the foreground you can see Los Cielos Park, the big park of downtown Los Cielos

https://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l8/dahawk_2006/LosCielosB.png

This is another section of US 34 in a more dense section of Los Cielos. You can also see Redwood Stadium in the backround, home to the Los Cielos Coyotes MLB team.

https://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l8/dahawk_2006/LosCielosA.png

This is the big interchange area of Los Cielos (and the area that splits downtown into two

distinct east and west halves). You can see sunken Highway 34 in the rear of the pic and

raised State Highway 731 (the diagonal one) in the foreground. Crossing both of them is

US 18.

https://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l8/dahawk_2006/BajaNorteMountainsA.jpg

Not much development out here (not even the same city as downtown Los Cielos) but I found it cool nonetheless. This is the Union Ridge Tunnel which crosses the Baja Norte Mountains.

To the left of the tunnel is the Davis Canyon and Davis Falls.

I dont have much development in the rest of the city and the transport system is pretty basic elsewhere. For those of you wondering Los Cielos means "The Heavens" in Spanish and the rival to Californias Los Angeles. Los Cielos lies on a fictional US island (Baja Pacifica), off the coast of Mexico. When I get around to my CJ when I'm done with this city (which wont be for some time). There will be more actual city shots and backround info.

Here's a thing I created and tested for use later elsewhere in my region...(looking east, so north is to the left):

transportationthingmodifiedst3.jpg

A bit of explaining:  The avenue going off of the top edge of the picture is supposed to be the northern border of the coastal downtown, and the highway at the top provides the western border of downtown.  The purpose of this whole thing is to provide easy access between all three highways and both avenues.  But I was wondering what you guys thought of the ramps in the blue boxes...do you think they should be as they are or should they be reversed?  Or are they unnecessary?  Please lend me your thoughts and ideas.  Much thanx!

nice, intersections people. Do they have any value in terms of transportation times? or do they just look cool?

I'm not quite sure if this was a question for me, but I'll answer it in case it was.  I had to build the tunnels because I didn't know of any other way of getting over those one-sided freeways without having an unfinished two-directional freeway section (and the only way I found to get the avenues to cross properly was to transition them into elevated highways, so that's why those are there).  And I don't really know what you mean by 'those things'...maybe those one-sided highways?  If so, they're called Multi-Highways, and there is a great guide by Lakeyboy on how to make them here.

Not too sure...haven't tested it in a populated area yet...I hope so!

He was refering to the elevated ave to elevated highway transition piece, if you have NAM then you have the peice, you have to use TAB to cycle through the peices.

Here's my intersection, which i don't think is really "unique" but I'll post it anyway.
