Would it be possible to create on-slope train stations? I mean, the station would be on ground level, but some kind of stairs would then lead to the sunken tracks. I know these kinds of stations are pretty common irl. I'll try to demonstrate the thing:

G = Ground level
S =  Slope
R =  Railroad

The actual station is highlighted in red

That is certainly possible, as I remember seeing a combined station once that hid tunnel entrance/exits. Whether it would be transit-enabled is a different question, but I imagine it's doable.

However, NAM doesn't deal with lots. Such a station would therefore have to be an independent project.

I woud like to see a road ending into a highway, like below:

<ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/highway4.jpg align=baseline>

Also, would it be possible to make longer exit lanes, like in the picture?

Why does one drive on a parkway and park on a driveway?

Why is delivery by boat called a cargo and one by land called a shipment?

Can someone make oneway roads that will make neighbor connections?

Uh the_crispybread_witch, Is that bridge style with the avenue in the game? Maybe I haven't used it yet.. Also what mod (or how) allows you to make a bridge stright across rather than a slope to the bridge? Sorry if you don't understand me. That's all I wanted to ask and I don't have anything to suggest for the NAM Mod yet.

@Lewie: The neighbor connection types for networks are hardcoded in the exe and are limited to bi-directional networks. Using the NAM, you can connect one-way roads directly to roads. So you would need to have a road connection and drag the one-way road onto it.

@The Sim Mayor: That arched bridge is in the game. Many of the large bridges, like this one, require a particular length before they can be selected to be built. The mod you want is the Bridge Height Mod by Joerg which is available in the Modding Files Section off to the left.

Hello everyone, I was wondering if there have been any thoughts on the development of highway on slope pieces to add to the NAM? During the play of a recent city, I found myself lacking a certain piece that would help me greatly! I need a piece to transverse from ground level highway to elevated highway on a slope created by one of the hole diggin lots for sunken highways. Without it....my highway looks odd!3.gif<ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//SC4pics-1.jpg width=250 align=baseline>

Hi, I don't believe this is anywhere on the list already. I've noticed that many ground highways in real life can overpass other principle roads, streets, etc. In other words, the ground highway will stay level at all times, but overpass a sunken throughway. I would think it would function like the on-slope puzzle pieces for roads and rails included in the new NAM.

This is not really a request, but I figured it would be smarter to post here than to create a new topic for it.

How do I make those turn left, turn left lanes I've seen on a few CJ's, that work like one-way roads?

could you make road and lightrail combo peices like you made el rail over road pieces? that'd be great!since then I could run light rail through my downtowns.19.gif

I would like to request a monorail crossing over elevated highway that does not take ten tiles.  One that is more like a monorail bridge, or avenue crossing.  The elevated highway crossing in NAM is impactical, because of the tiles required.  I still must use the ugly elevated to ground highway dip to get the monorail across.

Thanks for your consideration.

A little request:

I would love to see this type of road/street Tee-intersection (instead of the current one that unnecessarily desturbs the main road):

i dont have a request but more of a question. Im not sure if this has been made or not, but if i where to make an elevated train station that would be over a road intersection (such as a t i ntersection or a 4 way road under the station), would someone be willing to path it for me? Just wondering.

I know someone textured an intersection like that, I've got the file. I'll upload it so you don't have to search for it. The problem is it still acts screwey with stop paths and the traffic light props need to be removed, but it's a good start. I think it was me who originally requested this a long while ago.

I was wondering if it was possible to include the double decker el-rail pices to go over avenues too, and not just roads as it is now.

The latest NAM is amazing! I feel guilty asking for more...but here goes 44.gif

I definately have to second the suggestions from daihtnaoz and negative 352 for onslope highway transition pieces. These would be useful not only for crossing sunken highways, but also for making a level transition from raised ground highways (i.e. highways built on a 'mound') to elevated highways.

I would also like to suggest that the onslope pieces currently available have a generic concrete texture added to the ground beneath them (or at least that this option is made available). This way they would blend in with embankments made of concrete, brick, stone, etc. Besides, these slopes would be concrete in the real world even if the adjacent slope was grass (see negative 352's photo below). I apologize if this is a lot request, but I figured it is something that could easily be incorporated into the NAM by the original artists.

 I have to agree with you about the underside of the slope pieces. When I use the embankment pieces in conjunction with the slope pieces for an overpass, the lush green grass that grows underneath looks a little out of place.  A simple lot with an overhanging prop to cover the grass would be nice, but would'nt work well in all cases...( not to mention you would have to make one for the embankment style you were using and there's lots of them to choose from!). I'm no good at modding and GMAX does'nt like me, but think a generic concrete style ground texture attached to the puzzle piece itself would probably be sufficient enough to work for most people as long as it just keeps some poor sim from having to mow all that grass under the overpass!3.gif

Swamper77 thanks for the link, but i do have a question. Would it be possible to have an intersection under an elevated train station, such as a 4 way or a 3 way intersection that is directly below the station. I was just wondering since your not able to do it with your train station. Thanks

This picture was posted in another thread by someone else entirely:

1projeb154.jpg

Is it be possible for this type of exit interchange to be designed and implemented for ground-level highways? Or is the combination of pathing, batting, and texturing simply too much to handle? Hopefully not the latter, as I would love to subject introduce my sims to this sort of interchange.

Great work on the NAM, by the way! Thanks for extending the life of this video game beyond all expectations.

Updated Road Construstion in Sim City 4:

When a road detereates, I would like the option for Sim DOT crews
to go out and fix the Highways, Roads etc.

it would be a line item in the mayors budget

when sim DOT fix a road they would close 1st lane,
and work on that lane, reopen 1st lane and close 2nd
lane and work on that one

would result in traffic backups due to construction

would also apply to Highways

That would be so awesome to have in Sim City. I can just see the traffic come to a halt during rush hour. lol. (evil look)!  I think this should be in the new NAM (if possible) or even in Sim City 5 whenever it does come out.

I would also like to see this when you decide to Upgrade the road to an avenue, you see the construction workers working hard at work to finish the widening of the road. Now that would be cool to have and see.

Can I also confirm a massive preference to have this ground to elevated highway connector on the new NAM. It would totally change (for the better) some planning in my cities.

In real life, ground highways don't have guard rails, except over bridges and over passes. Can't someone change this in SC4?

Okay could someone please please build this. I need a sunken ground highway of ramp that loops around to an ave that crosses over it. so you will have a cloverleaf. I've tried everything in the NAM to create anything close and I can't. I real life most interchanges  merge not come to an intersection. These would be nice for roads too. Peices that work with the currant nam peices would be best

bad drawing I know, but these would be very helpful and useful to many I think.
thanks
