@fantozzi Wow , a 96 year old chain smoker . Smoking cigarette seems to be the only thing my doctor worries about , yet ignores arthritis and degenerative disc disease as being problems of the now . I just don't understand . Says he wants to see me get better . Did they say what Mr. Schmidt passed away from ? Curious to know .

I read an article in the NYTimes , He seemed to be a heck of a guy that said how he felt , no matter who or what it was about .

RIP Mr. Schmidt .

He had an infection and than, as a consequence, mutiple organ failure.

(BTW.: he carried a cardiac pacemaker since 1982. Later it was reported that during the 'german autum' (1977) he passed off several times and once he was found by a secretary inconsciousness on the floor. It is told that by this time friends said to him: if you continue this way and don't take a rest, you'll kill yourself.)

^ yes, tough.  Sources here did not indicate cause of death, but I suspect a regime of uppers and downers with perhaps other chemicals.  Seems to be rather endemic in these young artists.  R.I.P.

Rest in piece David Bowie, incredible musician and incredible music.

Don't know why but this song feels like his own obituary...

    Dear sir/madam/whoever will read this!

Computer problems and issues with accessing my Imageshack account meant My SC4 CJ Scrapbook was lost and utterly irretrievable. This setback put me off SC4 for many months.

Apologies for the inconvenience and for the lost pictures.

But that SC4 itch did not go away and it had to be scratched! I have started afresh with a new account here- The British Sausage

The URS is a spiritual successor to the SC4 CJ Scrapbook.

With this update this will be the last time I visit my original Simtropolis account- admin/mods feel free to remove it or do whatever you need to do. I have no further use for the Ln X (BLANKBLANK) account.

He was possibly the greatest personification of "cool" that we've had in some time?  I wonder who fills that role now.  Kind of reminds me of Steve McQueen for some reason, and I wasn't even around then.

There's a Simpsons reference to him that I can't quite find exactly.  Something where Lisa says "why don't we just call David Bowie?" to which Marge replies something like "we can't, he's saved this town so many times already."

Rest in peace Alan Rickman. You played a great bad guy in Die Hard and you were suburb in Sense and Sensibility.

He died of cancer. Yet another famous person dying of cancer. :(

I'm from the generation that only knew Alan Rickman as prof. Snape since I was a little kid in 2001, when I became older I decided to watch his other works and he became one of my favourite actors, and I love his voice. RIP Alan Rickman. :(

Alan Rickman was by far the best actor in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, still one of my favorite performances.

I thought about this, and am still thinking about it because though I've thought about this, I still have more thinking to do as to stop thinking about it would mean not to think.

More cancer deaths.  The brother of Canadian singer Céline Dion, Daniel, died of cancer only two days after her husband, René Angélil, succumbed to the disease.

It's devastating to lose your spouse and your brother in two days, let alone from the same cause.

That stinks.  I grew up listening to the Eagles.  And 67 is not all that old.
