No but now that you mention that would be awesome if someone took on that kind of project. I can see it being possible.

+ Cars switched to horses or chariots

+ Terrain switched to jungle or desert

+ Disable power

+ Make a well for water source an give it a large radius so you don't have to use pipes

+ Make pyramids as graveyards

+ Temples (churches) have huge impact on land value

I can see a lot of stuff being possible. Heck, haven't checked but maybe it's already been done.

Nice Idea!

I once thought of making those types of cities but then I think will they suit in SC4?

Those cities gen. have low population, carts, excellent sewage system etc.

Personally I think I'd rather do a Roman Empire city because it has more of a city feel. When I think of aztec/mayan I think of villages an stuff like that.

I once often used the terrain editor and tree tools to make various large pyramids covered in vegetation, typically using Teotihuacan as an inspiration or even direct layout guide.  I would imagine that these green pyramids were preserved ruins and archeological mounds within the bustling modern city.  Occasionally, I would leave off the tree cover and leave the pyramids exposed in the ground colors of the terrain, and contrast the pyramids by again setting them amidst densely tree-filled parks.  When I really got fancy, I would use added foliage or leave blank areas in patterns to suggest some underlying meaning, somewhat akin to the Nazca lines.  Hills in my cities might even be terraced in a way to suggest Incan Andean cities like Machu Picchu.

Somewhat similar in appearance to what I was doing are ancient Japanese "kofun" tombs, which, from above, look like huge, keyhole-shaped mounds.  Modern cities like Osaka and Sakai have engulfed these ancient sites, leaving what looks like vast, keyhole-shaped green park preserves scattered all throughout the urban areas.

In SimCity 2000, the library building looked like a red dome, and I would often plop these atop my green pyramids, giving them an entirely new, exotic look resembling stupas or Southeast Asian pagodas.  Yikes, I was making green pyramids even that far back!  Okay, I admit, I also used Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom as inspirations too, complete with Mount Meru planning and expansive "baray" water reservoirs.  I never quite reach the point of trying to use the terrain modifying tools to shape faces of Buddha into my ruined terrain-based pyramids.

Frankly, https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=774 this one would be usefull, and pyramids made by sclarke27 ;) But pyramids are not eveything. How about houses, streets, etc? zombie615: Look at Tenochtitlan - when Cortes conqured this city it has about 200 thousands inhabitatns! - one of the biggest cities in the world at that time.

Well, horses or anything with wheels is out. On the other hand, the game already has a model for one of the prerequisites: the llama ;).

The only fly in this ointment is that the game does exactly nothing without some kind of electrical power plant.  You are talking a different game, Civ perhaps.

Well, for a history buff like me, the anachronisms would be a little too much.  Or have you been watching that show called 'Ancient Aliens'?

Can you imagine building the Great Pyramid at Giza or the Sphinx?  We are still not sure how they did that.  The problem is the moving of blocks weighing several tons each.  We know they floated them most of the way, but the overland portion and the lifting still bothers everyone concerned.

We probably aren't even 1/10 as intelligence as our true ancestors from 1000's of years ago. If you set aside religion an focus on science, maybe we are aliens that have instead went backwards. Our intelligence drastically declined after we were dumped here on earth for being obsolete in their alien civilization. After thousands of years we are just now figuring out how to harness our hidden alien intellect.

Explains UFO's watching over us from time to time checking our progress. Seeing if we are worthy of redemption lol

We are not dumped I guess... Some scientists say we can be the offspring of them.

Ancient aliens are about as real as the contents of Genesis.  It is all myth and speculation.

I would say Genesis is more believable (from personal opinion, at the very least). Aliens from outer space still doesn't explain their origins, so the issue is more of a bait and switch than anything else. At least Genesis answers the [general] question, even if many find the answer (and/or it's implications) unsatisfactory, or simply unsavory (imo mostly the latter. All scientific questions of origins can rightly be handwaved when understood in the context of a creator. One cannot handwave aliens in absence of an origin explanation, esp as a source of human DNA/origin/evolutionary development, and I think you can at least agree that this is true in it's limited scope, even if you don't agree with it on the whole.)

I think the OP's city would have to be a Lot Editor city; non-functional and purely aesthetic for reasons of slope, lack of appropriate transport options, and the fact that the wheel doesn't exist in such cities, so steep roads can rule, which is really only possible to mimic with plops and the LE. The Mediterranean CJ by elavery is a good example of such cities.

Why from the conversation about mayan/aztec city, it turns to conversation about aliens and Genesis?

Personally I belive that all of us are made by one God, and he fulfilled his will creating socalled big bang.

Let's move to the city. For me it is possible to bulit in simcity such aztec/mayan city but in our times. Imagine how it could be if Spanish do not destory all of these great buildings and mysterious structures? Maybe like in India now where there are a lot of ancient temples. Temples could be converted to churches e.g. in ancient Rome. Why not? Think about it.

These are all friendly discussions... I really like how some people are so warm & cordial here.

Whatever it is... The subject of Ancient history and Aliens are really interesting.

And in your last para.. do you mean destruction or war? If our ancient forefathers would have been alive today, there would not have been so much pain and tears in the modern society...

I recently read an ancient Hindu scripture where it says about how the ancient civilizations all over the world interacted and helped each other.

BTW, I think we should now come back to SC4 or else the Admins will find it interesting to close this thread hahaha :)
