I'm not sure about the white letters on the banner, though, I think there should be a bit more contrast.

Very neat! I like how the design incorporates with the tabs at the top.

 

Perhaps a tad more drop shadow on the logo would improve contrast. But I'm certainly not complaining!

Yes, I noticed the change too. I think the Simtropolis-logo is more readable now. To me, the banner is perfect now, no more change needed

Yes, they just moved the banner and contrasted the logo. Now it's perfect.

I preferred it before. The updated one is OK, although I think the drop shadow on the 2014 is a bit strong.

Liking the re-positioning and logo tweak. Looks good!

I noticed on the portal and omnibus, though, the nav tabs are floating 1px or so above the content area. Nitpicky, I know. Just thought I'd point it out.

I wonder if the byline under each CJ's title (in the CJ section could be tweaked? The pale blue '...a Simtropolis city journal' doesn't stand out against the new background - maybe redone in a shade of red, like the '2014' on the home page?

I'm running Firefox 27.0.1 but that's only a minor update to 27.0.

 

Maybe your browser cache needs purging? I found this was necessary to get the new banner to update.

Nope.  It must look like an advert.  I'll have to see what Adblock+ is up to.  If it has any advertising attached to it, it would be killed there.

Odd, with Adblock Plus switched on, I can still see the banner. (Obviously, ABP is normally switched off, since I'm okay with ads to keep this site alive )

Fixed.  The pattern for ST's stuff had apparently changed.  Changed the filter to accept anything from ST.
