On my profile settings it says that I can't change my username until October 28, 2014. Why?

I believe that you could not change your username for at least 2 years of registering yourself here at Simtropolis. Hope that helps!

Actually, I think the one-year limit is there because we don't want people changing identity too often.  Messes up the data base.

There seems to be some variation of the times. For example, my settings say it's 3 years from registration date:

Now that my user name matches my signature, I will never change it.  Thanks to Meg, who did it last time before the option existed.

At first, I was against changing my screen name. But then, I decided to 'scare' people by making my name more "linear". I just added 2 nouns there from the original screen name.
