country road without crossing

Hello community.

Are there any downloads for country road exits without crossing? I mean exits like the one in the attached picture, but for country roads (and avenues, if possible), not for highways.

Or can you show me a good tutorial for modelling streets if there is no download?

Thank you :)

There is alot of exits & ramps on the RHW but I don't really like using the RHW, I'm so used to the NAM & Maxis roadways which I haven't found anything for those yet :(  I hope there is that I can learn about

It would be illogical for that piece to exist to roads and avenues, because that piece is intended for a partial cloverleaf interchange. You can use RHW to mimic that piece on avenues and roads, but it would look ridiculous and have no lot access. That piece is actually used for this interchange:

Please note that I used RHW in this pic, but it will give you an idea how you use the MHW lateral ramp. ;)

I also don't like the RHW. That's why I'm searching exit ramps for the NAM. I just want to create intersections like the one in the picture.

You can build very compact exits/ramps for roads and avenues if you use the TULEPs like that:

    http://www.ld-host.de/uploads/images/6ae44389f56533f42e9af4d7251b7ddd.jpg

(the exit just in front of the tunnel entrance. The Trumpet interchange in the foreground is built with the RHW. That's not to hard to do :))

Edit: This picture shows it better:

of course, there are stubs of road that are useless, but Imho it serves the purpose and you can still pretend that it used to be a crossing until it was upgraded.

If you stop short of dragging the intersection you can do this with default roads and streets.  If you want a rural appearance use the SAM textures on the streets.

I don't see any point in the one for the avenue unless it crosses at least one leg.

@A Nonny Moose: I think it is not necessary to build a new puzzle piece, but the workaround you showed is not really an answer to the question. Here, if a bypass to a village or town is built(which happens quite often), they usually build it two-lane with either channelized intersections or with small scale on- and offramps. just look at these:

Such intersections allow for fairly high speeds(70-100km/h) and minimizes the risk of accidents, while keeping land-use low. I guess that you don't have many such roads over there in wide open canada, but in europe, especially in mountainous regions, this is the norm for roads with high traffic volumes.

Thanks for the answers :) I think I have to switch to RHW for pretty solutions...

Another question: Can anyone send me the newest INSTALLED and UNPACKED NAM-files and the updated files of patch EP1 Update 1 (Build 638)?

A while ago I lost one of my two SC4-Deluxe-Discs, which means that I could not install SC4 on my new PC. I just copy&pasted the installation from my old PC to my new one (it worked really good!), and now the installation of the newest SC4-D-Patch fails because of missing registry-entries... PLEASE help me, I want to have the newest NAM!! :D ...otherwise I have to buy SC4-D again...

EDIT: @flatron: I know these type of intersections, but that's not really what I want...

Simcty 4 Deluxe is currently 9,99€ at Steam. Digital copy is legal, legit, fully patched and compatible with mods.

That's the only way you'll ever be able to use the NAM properly. AND (big note here) asking for someone to send you their SC4 installation is a forbidden topic, since it's basically piracy.

There are several ramps like that on the rural sections of Hwy 400 outside of Barrie, Ontario.  They usually consist of one-way ramps with an underpass to get to the opposite direction.  I most certainly don't recommend them because that highway's speed at that point is 100 Km/hr.  It is a kind of FLUP with ramps.

What I was illustrating is that you don't need any facets of RHW to make this happen.  You just have to be a little more creative.  At most you need a FLUP with ramps for the correct traffic flow.

The NAM does have what I think are FAMIS-ramps for avenues. They won't give you the exact look you want but with a little effort you could probably pull it off. I generally really recommend giving the RHW a shot; it has a steep learning curve but it's well worth the effort, both for looks and for functionality once you get the hang of it.

You can buy a fully updated SC4D in a digital download from one of the authorized vendors; Amazon, GamersGate, Steam, Origin.
