Farms in a Large City, please help

I have a fairly large city, almost 100,000 people and I would like farms to start growing. I downloaded the SPAM pack because I learned farms will not grow in large cities, will the SPAM pack fix this? Is there another download that I can use to jump-start the farms or is it a fatal endeavour to grow farms in a large city? Any help would be appreciated :)

100,000 is too large of a city even for SPAM. Your agriculture demand should already be switched off in that city. Difficulties usually start around a population of 16k.

There are some mods that increase the agricultural demand cap, such as SimGoober's Ditch Set and the smaller Census Repository Facility. I don't think any of these work in a city where demand has already been killed though.

There are a few plugins in the SPAM series that allow you to build small tiles of different type of fields! its pretty much work because you need to drop them one by one! still they look really good and there is a huge variety of different types.

They are in my "park" menu, i belive they dont actually "work" as farm but you can build nice looking farms with them.

I used them as my farms didnt grow anymore after a certain population.

Actually if I understand it correctly, your Agricultural demand never dies off with SPAM.  Sounds like I might be wrong; you can read about it here.

If you can't find a way to get it to work, you could instead fill the planned farm areas with suburbs and industrial parks, and put the farms in surrounding city tiles.

That's in principle true. However, somehow my games refuse to grow any fields if the city surpasses a certain size, even if the demand graph still claims there is agricultural demand with SPAM. It's much easier to grow agriculture in small towns, even with SPAM.

However, the problem with the city in the original post is that I have never seen agricultural demand reappear after the game switched it off.

That would be due to low desirability.  Agriculture hates areas of high traffic and air pollution, which are of course unavoidable in big cities.  You'll notice lots of red areas on the desirability map for Agriculture.  If you kept your urban area confined to one side of the tile however, you probably could get farms on the other side.  You would just need a buffer zone.

The switching-off thing is probably built into the game and just can't be modded.  In the case of mods like SPAM it's always better to start fresh cities.

Yup, that sounds like a reasonable explanation.
