By the way, there is a way to make that parking lot look like it connects: [snip]

Hey, I just tried this out, and it works like a charm (sorry for the less than ideal church parking lot) :):

Or the other way round:

Thanks!

And here something slightly different, while mixing old and new:

City hall does not come to mind when I see that however.

I thought the same thing. Sure looks like a nice medieval church.

But does it have the religious benefits in SC4, or just imaginary church? Has the name been changed or does it still say city hall when it's queried?

In Sc4 it is a landmark and says Belfry Ghent when queried

That doesn't exactly have a smooth transition to diagonal roads. Otherwise, it is a nice small church.

You don't know how much I hate that too. Without actually doing some lot editing on my own, there's not much I can do about it. One of the very few downsides to the grid in SC4. Most "driveways" don't extend to the street either unless TE'ed. Some times I can use a MMP to create a gravel path, but not in this instant. Though I did try anyways, even knowing it probably wouldn't work, that's how much I hate the diagonal.

There are ways around it!  Please read my post above this quoted one.   ;)

I actually didn't notice your comment till after I posted my response and was going to wait till I updated the image to respond, but Turjan got the jump on it. Thank you for this little tip that will soon to be a standard procedure for these instances.

Looks good Turjan. Especially the second one. Is that another one of Simgoober's churches?

I actually have the Maxis landmarks blocked, so didn't recognize it.

I think that's a misunderstanding. That's not a Maxis landmark, you can get the landmark You should visit the great old cities in Flanders one day, and then you would notice that these old city halls look not at all like churches. You can sit next to that tower and eat some horrible Ghentse Waterzooi :D.

It was a misunderstanding on my part, but now I know what you meant.

Okay here are a couple of mine.

The First Church of Coca-Cola!!!

Here is a church and private school side by side since many private schools have some sort of religious affiliation.

I also agree that using the SAM starter piece to create this illusion is pretty nifty. Now it's time to search around for all the instances I can correct using this technique

The Coke Church is hilarious. Very interesting looking building. I'm sure some of the futuristic city mayors will be asking bout that one.

I find that the majority of private school/colleges around my area are indeed affiliated with a religion. Mostly Catholic to be exact.

Here's a list of churches pulled from the LEX, posted by Cyclone Boom in the "Can't Find It?" thread. Figured the followers of this thread will enjoy picking through the list. It should also give more reason for some nice pics in this thread.

JB Simio has two combined schools with churches from his School Pack Three in that list. Although they are supposed to be private schools, you will have to pay something, but that's outweighed by the positive church effect of those schools.

That just means you didn't look closely ;). The big square building with the huge cross directly in the front is a church, as weird as it may look. It's the

If you look close I think the building at the bottom center facing the street has a cross that is partially covered by a tree.

^Exactly. Think there are only two cities in my region that have been granted that particular church building so far. Didn't even know that SG's churches were rewards prior to installing them. At first I was like "HEY, WHERE THE HECK ARE MY CHURCHES!!!", till the city finally gave me the small church, then I realized I had to wait.

There are so many beautiful churches here in New England. When I pass by some, all I think of is, dang...the other SC4 mayors would love to see this one. ;)

I believe you. Sometimes I wish I would learn to BAT, but then, I know I suck with textures because of my color vision, so it's better for everyone if I stay away from it :D.
